According to Morgan Freeman’s rep:

“He has a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage but he is in good spirits,” said Donna Lee. “He is going to have surgery this afternoon or tomorrow to correct the damage. He says he’ll be okay and is looking forward to a full recovery.”

The 71 year old actor’s car careened off the road and flipped several times before landing.  Freeman had to be removed from his vehicle with the jaws of life and then airlifted to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis.   There is no word on the condition if his passenger, Demaris Meyer. Both Freeman and Meyer were wearing their seat belts, but the airbags did not deploy. 

Alcohol has been ruled out and it is believed that Freeman may have fallen asleep at the wheel.  No charges were laid.
