Christina Applegate is 100% Cancer-free

14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

Less than a month ago we learned that she was diagnosed with breast cancer, a disease her mother has battled and now, she tells Good Morning America that she is 100% cancer free:

“Absolutely 100 percent clear and clean. It did not spread. They got everything out, so I’m definitely not going to die from breast cancer.”

She also talks about her reaction upon learning the news after her doctor ordered an MRI:

“I was so mad,” she says in the “GMA” interview when she first heard the news. “I was just shaking and — and then also immediately, I had to go into … ‘take-care-of-business-mode,’ which was … I asked them, ‘What do I do now? What — what is it that I do? I get a doctor, I get a surgeon, I get an oncologist? What do I do?’”

Applegate, 36, says she “immediately made those appointments and immediately called around for … someone to start teaching me how to live macrobiotically.”

The interview with GMA airs tomorrow.  Applegate will also take part in a one hour TV special Stand Up To Cancer which takes place on September 5.

That is such wonderful news.

The kindness of friends

Cannes 2008: 'The Day After Peace' - Jude Law PhotocallSweeney Todd - Paris Premiere80th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Jude Law , Johnny Depp, and Colin Farrell  have all donated their salaries of their latest project, The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus  to Heath Ledger’s daughter Matilda.  They were concerned for Ledger’s daughter when they learned that his will was not updated prior to his untimely death.  The trio were brought in to finish the film which was Ledger’s final project.

The director of the film, Terry Gilliam confirms:

“They didn’t take money - it goes to Heath’s daughter,” ”That’s extraordinary. And wonderful and when you’re part of that, you think, ‘Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies in the beginning’.”

That is indeed extraordinary.  That little girl has so much love and kindness around her.  That story brought a tear to my eye.

Roseanne thinks Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt are EVIL

While I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan of either one of them, to refer to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as Evil is a pretty strong word.  She rants BIG TIME on her blog (entitled Jon Voight - Angie’s dad) about the couple claiming they are pretty much hypocrites:

Your evil spawn Angelina Jolie and her vacuous hubby Brad Pitt make about $40 million a year in violent, psychopathic movies and give away three of it to starving children, trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity as they spit out more dunces that will consume more than their fair share and wreck the earth even more,”

On Angie’s political indecisiveness:

Miss Jolie says she likes [John] McCain too and hasn’t decided who to endorse….huh?” Roseanne writes. “Aren’t you supposed to be somewhat enlightened, or do you not know that the African daughter you hold in every picture had parents who suffered and died because of the Republican party’s worldwide economic assault on Africa over the last few decades since Reagan?”

She claims that Jolie’s “Thai and Vietnamese sons” are also “victims of America’s right-wing military incursions too.”  “it might be good for your Asian and African children’s self-esteem to know you support” Barack Obama, a man of color, “for the leader of the free world.”

Her final words:

“Now go back to making your movies about women who love to handle big guns that shoot hundreds of people to death.”

She is certainly entitled to her opinion, but to refer to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt having babies as:  “spitting out dunces” is a little much.  To attack an innocent child goes too far.  Like seriously, what caused that?

Besides, does Roseanne do as much philanthropic work as they do?

Jennifer Lopez on Self Magazine

The beautiful mother of twins, Max and Emme, and also SELF’s most inspired woman of 2008, was inspired to run a triathalon as she was watching TV waiting to deliver her babies:

“I thought, ‘What can I do to make my babies proud?’ I think about what they’ll think about the year they were born: who I was and what I did.  “It’s important to me to set examples for them. I want to lead with my life. I want to say, ‘You should do this because I’ve done it, and I know it makes you a better person and it makes you feel great and sleep better and be happier.’”

On how working toward the Triathalon has helped her:

“Working out and getting back into shape isn’t exciting to me but training for a triathlon is. There’s a goal at the end of it, something to reach for.”

In the issue, she talks about why her and Marc Anthony chose to raise their kids without nannies, and the accomplishments she is most proud of.  The issue is on stands now.

Hugh Jackman vs. Gerard Butler

3rd Annual "A Fine Romance" Celebrity guests arrive for The police, in their one-night-only final concert ever in New York City

You’ve spoken loud and clear that you find Gerard Butler hotter than George Clooney, now the two fan favorites go head to head in the current “Who’s Hotter” poll.

I have to admit I was surprised that it was unanimous that Gerard was hotter than George (although I wouldn’t disagree), and I would say the fan base for both Gerard and Hugh is pretty high and fairly equal, but I leave it to you, the viewers to vote.

Don’t forget to cast your vote in the poll at the bottom right of the screen.

Your viewership is greatly appreciated :)
