So impressed by Michael Phelp’s recent cameo appearance on Entourage that the eight time Olympic gold champ has been offered a recurring role on the hit series.

That cameo appearance happened because Phelps was walking by the New York City set and producers offered him a part, as himself, in a scene with actor Kevin Connolly.  That’s how it all came about!! 

Jeremy Piven says of the opportunity for a recurring part:

“I could see him coming back as one of the boys. I can see (my character) Ari being very aggressive in recruiting him to represent him and also stopping at nothing to poach him from another client. That’s what Ari would do.”

Of the original cameo appearance, the show’s creator Doug Ellin says:

 “It was the coolest thing in the world. When he showed up, I’m not exaggerating, city buses stopped and people started yelling and within five minutes we couldn’t even shoot.”

Entourage premieres September 7.

I’ve never watched the show but it has such a huge following, doesn’t it?  Do you watch?

“I hate it when people say ‘You’re in this business, that’s what you have to deal with’. No. You don’t have to deal with harassment. You have to deal with your life being somewhat public.

“I heard George Clooney talking a few months ago about how he was being followed on a motorcycle and they were running lights and almost getting into accidents with other people and I’ve totally experienced that.”

I survived seeing Gerard Butler in person.  I will write all about that in another post as I still have to download the software for the camera and the pictures themselves.  Will have a post in the morning that includes my pictures and the press’ pictures.  Need sleep but wanted to do this post and I’m afraid I may do something crazy like delete the pictures, lol.

After the premiere, we drove to where the afterparty was and we couldn’t get near it.  The crowd was outside of the venue and the guard at the gates told us it was invitation only so we headed home.
