Lauren Conrad Has a Book Deal
Lauren Conrad keeps adding to her empire. She has the Hills (which she is hoping to finish up), her clothing line, designing the outfits for the Emmy’s and now a 3 book deal with Harper Collins in which she will pen a young adult fiction series.
The release states the book is entitled:
L.A. Candy, the series tells “the behind-the scenes story of a young girl who moves to L.A. and unexpectedly becomes the star of a reality television show,” The character soon realizes that “everyone wants something from her, and nothing is what it appears to be,”
Sounds like art imitating her life.
Lauren Conrad released her own statement:
“I’ve always loved books that I could lose myself in, ones that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to,” Conrad said in a statement. “I’m so excited to have this opportunity to write books like that for other readers.”
Apparently the mere mention of this deal caused such a buzz that the publisher says: ”We’re bracing ourselves for a blockbuster publication.
The first book is due out next summer.
Although I don’t read books like I used to, my fondest memories are just as Lauren described, when a book transports you to another place. Those are the types of books that you hate when they end. To write like that is magic.
Are you a big reader? What kind of books?
