In addition to the recent contribution of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw have also donated $100,000 to fight California`s Proposition 8 which is the Proposition to ban gay marriages in that state. 

Steven & Kate`s statement:

”By writing discrimination into our state constitution, Proposition 8 seeks to eliminate the right of each and every citizen in our state to marry regardless of sexual orientation,”  ”Such discrimination has NO place in California’s constitution, or any other.”

Proposition 8 goes to ballot November 8.

Sick of the bland, unchallenging roles, Diane Lane tells Moviefone:

“This film is the last film, and by that I could mean it in any way. It’s the last one I did, and it’s the last one I’m gonna do for a while, and it’s the last one I have in the can … and then we’ll see.”

Being nice isn`t working for her:

“Basically, the job I want to do next has already been done, by Anjelica Huston in The Grifters. I am gunning for something that’s not so sympathetic. I need to be a b**ch, and I need to be in a comedy. I’ve decided. No more Miss Nice Guy.”

She admits she`s conflicted between work and wanting to stay home to take care of husband Josh Brolin, her daughter and her two step daughters:

“I can’t do anything official. My agents won’t let me. Between you and me, I don’t have anything else coming out, and I’m just gonna be taking my kids to driving school and making sure they don’t cause any trainwrecks with their texting.”

I`m no Sherlock Holmes, but I`m thinking that if she were pregnant, she wouldn`t be drinking wine.  Of course I`m making the sweeping assumption that it isn`t fruit punch, and I know lots of women drink while pregnant, but Longoria doesn`t strike me as someone who would. 

On another note, do you see the look Victoria Beckham is giving the photographer.!!  If looks could kill, right.  Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham were watching a soccer game on Saturday together.

I am liking Victoria`s new cut.  Do you like it.  If you notice, after the sentences posed as a question I don`t have a question mark and the reason for that is when I go to type the question mark I get É instead.  Today has been pantloads of fun.

Charlize Theron & Stuart Townsend attend a special premiere of Battle in Seattle presented by GenArt and Redwood Palms Pictures in Los Angeles yesterday.

They appear to be totally devoted and still hot for each other after all these years (8, I believe).  How fabulous is that!!

Omg I couldn`t believe it when I read it.  US Magazine is reporting that according to a court document they have obtained, she has lost custody of her eight year-old son Roan whom she adopted with ex-husband Phil Bronstein (who btw if you remember was attacked by a Komodo (si) dragon just before they split up.  Tell me that wasn`t COINCIDENCE).

The September 12 document says that Bronstein:

“shall have permanent sole physical custody of child. Court finds that respondent [Sharon Stone] failed to meet her burden of proof and denies respondent’s [Sharon Stone's] request for modification of custody.”  He is able to  ”provide a more structured continuity, stable, secure and consistent home that…Roan needs.”

What does this mean for the other children she has adopted (she has Roan, Quinn Kelly and Laird).

Unless she moves closer to Bronstein`s San Francisco residence, this order is permanent.

This is not her year what with the lawsuit regarding her China earthquake remarks and now this.

He is now using his free time to concentrate on charity work, particularly the domestic violence charity he founded in 1993.
The singer adds, “I’m doing what I consider really, really important work. You are supposed to come into your home and feel safe. Violence against women is unacceptable.”
