Natalie Portman and her boyfriend Devendra Banhart, who had been dating since about last March have ended their relationship. 

Portman is a fan of the folk-rock singer Banhart, and appeared in his video, Carmensita.  It was shortly thereafter that the two were seen together. 

At the time she asked him to donate a track to the charity compilation she curated on iTunes, Big Change: Songs for FINCA.  In return, she did not charge her fee for appearing in the video.

Apparently the couple became “too close, too quickly”.  In July, the actress moved to California to be closer to him.  Now that’s gotta suck.  You pack all your crap up and two months later they split.
