Gerard Butler Under Investigation For Assault
This is so shocking I can’t believe it. TMZ is reporting that Gerard Butler was leaving an L.A. nightclub (in limo) at about 2 a.m. Tuesday morning when he was followed by a paparazzi.
Butler had his limo driver stop the car and confronted the photographer asking him why he was being followed. The guy responded “Hey, that’s my job,” That’s when Butler alledgedly reached in the car, grabbed the photographer’s throat and punched him with a closed fist.
The photographer was treated at the hospital for stitches and then went to the police station to file a polie report. Officers of the Los Angeles Police Department have confirmed a report was filed and will be interviewing Gerard.
However, sources have come forward and are telling a different story in that the photographer was following Gerard around for hours chasing him recklessly in his vehicle. And also that the photographer still followed Gerard for an hour before going to the hospital. And P.S. he saw a lawyer before going to the hospital.
I’ve updated the poll on the sidebar (bottom right) to reflect this type of situation and countless others that occur. I know the paps are the ones that bring pictures for sites like this, but do they go too far?

Considering what happend to Princess Di, if I were a celebrity I’d be concerned about being followed recklessly by these idiots with cameras, too. They can be respectful and still get good shots as part of their job – it’s the ones looking for ‘dirt’ who are a danger because they persue at any cost. Makes you understand why some celebs become so reclusive, much to the dismay of their fans, but understandable under the circumstances.
I hope Mr. Butler is cleared of this. He’s been very patient and approachable up to this point. I hope this doesn’t ruin that.
Maybe somebody ought to publish a list of publishers who use these scumbags (and it’s probably the same ones each time!) so true fans can boycott them in support of their favorite celeb!

Yes being followed makes violence acceptable. Mr Butler needs to be locked up and the key needs to be thrown away.
I don’t like violent people. We don’t need them in our society.
That’s sad that Gerry resorted to violence but I wasn’t there to see what really happened so I’m not judging him.
