Sandra Bullock’s Husband Sued For Fraud

A fashion firm is accusing Sandra Bullock’s husband, Jesse James of fraud. Jesse, the owner of West Coast Choppers, is alleged to have pulled out of a deal with California-based Fortune Fashion Industries LLC at the last minute. The deal he pulled out of would have seen a clothing line named America’s Brand sold through Wal-Mart.
The lawsuit, which was filed Wednesday, claims he pulled out of the deal last minute only to turn around and launch a clothing line directly with Wal-Mart. The line, called Jesse James Industrial Workwear, is inspired by his rough and ready garage attire. He is also accused of poaching one of Fortune Fashion’s key employees to help him with his line.
In addition they are also accusing him of breach of fiduciary duty, among other allegations, and are seeking damages “equal to 50 per cent of James’ or his related entities’ past and future net profit” from the Wal-Mart venture
I’m not sure about contract side of things, but how can you sue someone for stealing an employee? They have the freedom to work where they want, right?
