Eartha Kitt Has Died – R.I.P.

Eartha Kitt, the sultry singer, famous for playing Catwoman on the 60′s TV Series Batman, has died of cancer in New York at the age of 81 (on Christmas Day) with her daughter Kitt Shapiro by her side, her publicist has confirmed.
A consummate and passionate performer, Eartha filmed PBS special in Chicago six weeks ago that is set to air in February.
She got her big break when she auditioned on a dare for the Katherine Dunham Dance Troupe and landed a spot as a featured dancer and vocalist.
She became famous in America when she appeared on the Broadway revue New Faces of 1952– and introduced her famous “Santa Baby,” as well as her other trademark songs, “C’est Si Bon” and “Monotonous.” It was only just last week that Santa Baby was certified gold.
The icon became a part of the cabaret circuit appearing in The Wizard of Oz based on the 1939 movie.
She is survived by her daughter and four grandchildren. Our sincere condolences to her family.
