Such horrible, shocking  news I can’t believe it.  Jett Travolta 16, son to John Travolta and Kelly Preston died today while he and the family vacationed in Bahamas.

The family’s lawyer, Michael Ossi told Reuters that Jett had suffered a seizure at the family vacation home at Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island.

However, according to police spokeswoman, Loretta Mackey, Jett hit his head in a bathtub Friday morning and was declared dead at Rand Memorial Hospital on Grand Bahama Island.

Jett is the only son of the couple who also have an 8 year old daughter Ella Bleu.

When Jett was 2 he became very, very ill with flu-like symptons Kelly  told Montel Williams in 2003.   He would later be diagnosed with Kawasaki disease which usually affects children from ages 2 to 5, and can cause inflammation of the arteries.

Although usually treatable, it can lead to lasting heart damage in some rare cases.

Jett also suffered from asthma which Kelly believed was a result of harsh household cleaning products.  This prompted her to lobby for more detailed labeling on chemical products.  She credits Scientology’s detoxification program for improving Jett’s health which is based on founder Ron L. Hubbard’s writings.

After Kelly gave birth to Jett, John Travolta held him for hours refusing to let nurses take him away for tests:

“After he was born and cleaned up, I held him for hours while Kelly slept. When they came to take him away for various tests, I said, ‘No, you can’t see him today. You’ll have to do it another day.’ I went a little nutsy.”

Hugh Jackman is said to have pulled out of negotiations for Steven Soderbergh’s 3D rock ‘n roll musical ‘Cleopatra’.  Hugh was slated to play Roman general Marc Anthony to Catherine Zeta Jones’ Cleopatra.

Soderbergh explains it is largely due to scheduling conflicts:

“I want him to be [involved], we’re trying to work it out,” he told inthenews.co.uk at the UK premiere of Che last year.

“I guess [X-Men Origins:] Wolverine is opening in 2010 so he’ll have the publicity tour for that, but I definitely want him.”

Hugh is going to be very busy with hosting the Academy Awards in February and returns as Wolverine in May.

Bummer.  I suspect we would have seen him topless and buff in that production, no?

Despite the immense success of ‘Twilight’, Robert Pattinson is not looking forward to the sequel ‘New Moon’.  He has signed a multi-million dollar deal to reprise his role in the block-buster franchise, but says it is a painful ordeal:

“Wearing coloured contact lenses… It was like I constantly had sand in my eyes. I was wearing them for three months constantly and my eyes never ever accepted them! It took me 20 minutes per eye every single day and I ended up having to literally fold it into my eyeball.”

He feels his ability to act was comprimised because of the ‘two orange blobs’ in his eyes.  He adds:

“It was frustrating as well because normally your eyes are saying something, but if you’ve got two orange blobs in your face it’s so annoying!

“The director (Catherine Hardwicke) would say, ‘Look at her (Kristen Stewart) like you love her,’ and I’d be like, ‘I’m trying!’ I’m going to have to do it again because we’re making the sequel next year.”
