Barbara Walters has landed the first in-depth interview with Patrick Swayze since it was announced he was battling cancer.

The interview that took place at Swayze’s ranch out side of Los Angeles, will air on January 7, 2009.  Says Barbara:

“Everything about him (Swayze) impresses me: his courage, his humour. There’s something very valiant about him… He’s a fighter.”

“Men come and go but there really is no relationship like the one you have with a dog – and then they don’t live as long as they should.  “You have to say goodbye way too soon. It’s just so sad. It makes me so sad. But their love is unconditional and I love that.”

Tom Cruise greeted fans outside the Gerald Schoenfeld theatre where Katie is performing while Katie Holmes carried Suri. 

I know a lot of people think Tom Cruise is ‘out there’ based on his antics and beliefs, but you have to admit for someone as famous as he is, he is pretty approachable.

I think Kate Beckinsale and her husband Len Wiseman have some competition in the couples shopping together department.  The last few pictures we’ve seen of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden they’ve been shopping.  Mind you, it was the holidays and all, but time will tell won’t it?  Regardless I love this couple.  They seem like the real deal to me.

Do you think it’s a celebrity thing to shop together as a couple because I know my husband would rather watch paint dry than shop with me.  Does your significant other shop with you?

Such horrible, shocking  news I can’t believe it.  Jett Travolta 16, son to John Travolta and Kelly Preston died today while he and the family vacationed in Bahamas.

The family’s lawyer, Michael Ossi told Reuters that Jett had suffered a seizure at the family vacation home at Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island.

However, according to police spokeswoman, Loretta Mackey, Jett hit his head in a bathtub Friday morning and was declared dead at Rand Memorial Hospital on Grand Bahama Island.

Jett is the only son of the couple who also have an 8 year old daughter Ella Bleu.

When Jett was 2 he became very, very ill with flu-like symptons Kelly  told Montel Williams in 2003.   He would later be diagnosed with Kawasaki disease which usually affects children from ages 2 to 5, and can cause inflammation of the arteries.

Although usually treatable, it can lead to lasting heart damage in some rare cases.

Jett also suffered from asthma which Kelly believed was a result of harsh household cleaning products.  This prompted her to lobby for more detailed labeling on chemical products.  She credits Scientology’s detoxification program for improving Jett’s health which is based on founder Ron L. Hubbard’s writings.

After Kelly gave birth to Jett, John Travolta held him for hours refusing to let nurses take him away for tests:

“After he was born and cleaned up, I held him for hours while Kelly slept. When they came to take him away for various tests, I said, ‘No, you can’t see him today. You’ll have to do it another day.’ I went a little nutsy.”
