This is so very sad.  American Idol’s David Cook’s brother has lost his decade long battle with cancer.  Adam Cook, 37, died Saturday morning.  Sunday morning, David Cook, who was serving as grand marshall and running the race told the audience at 12th annual Race for Hope 5K in Washington, D.C (video footage above):

“I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else right now,”

During his competition on American Idol, Adam sat front row in April, 2008 during one of David’s performances.  At the time the married father was going through chemotherapy treatments.

In March of this year, David Cook cancelled two shows to spend more time with his brothers.

Yesterday, Revlon held its 12th Annual EIF (Entertainment Industry Foundation) Run/Walk for Women in Times Square, New York to raise funds for breast and ovarian cancer for women.   We all know someone who has been touched by this horrible disease and it’s wonderful that Revlon along with celebrities raise both funds and awareness for the cause.  May 9th Revlon will hold their Run/Walk in Los Angeles.  For more information click here.

Russell Brand was at the Barnes and Noble bookstore at The Grove in Los Angeles on the weekend signing copies of ‘My Booky Wook, A Memoir of Sex, Drugs and Stand-Up’.

Russell is about to start filming his latest movie, ‘Get Him To The Greek’ in Las Vegas and apparently is staying at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and has requested the famed Apex Suite.  The suite comes with a stripper pole, glass covered shower, cocktail bar and home cinema system.  

I can just imagine the memories that suite will hold after Russell has stayed there!

Here is Susan Boyle from 25 years ago (at the age of 22) singing ‘The Way We Were’  at Motherwell Football Club’s social club in Scotland.  The footage was shot by Gerry McGuinness, 61 who recalls at the time:

“She was so shy, but she was also very attractive back then–she turned a few heads when she came in. She didn’t win the contest, though,” he said.

“I didn’t recognize Susan as the girl on my video when I first saw her on Britain’s Got Talent until a relative called and asked me if I still had the tape.  “It’s great she is finally getting some recognition.”
