This is so very sad.  American Idol’s David Cook’s brother has lost his decade long battle with cancer.  Adam Cook, 37, died Saturday morning.  Sunday morning, David Cook, who was serving as grand marshall and running the race told the audience at 12th annual Race for Hope 5K in Washington, D.C (video footage above):

“I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else right now,”

During his competition on American Idol, Adam sat front row in April, 2008 during one of David’s performances.  At the time the married father was going through chemotherapy treatments.

In March of this year, David Cook cancelled two shows to spend more time with his brothers.
