Gerard Butler Charged With Assault
This is not the kind of news I like reporting. Gerard Butler has been charged with a misdemeanor criminal battery for that alleged run in with a photographer who was chasing him.
Back in October,when Gerard Butler was promoting RockNRolla, a papperazzi guy allegedly followed him after he exited an L.A. nightclub in the wee hours of the morning. Butler confronted the guy and allegedly punched him. Originally people came forward and said the papper was following Gerard around for hours and trying to antagonize him. At the time Gerard’s rep said the papper almost killed a pedestrian.
TMZ is reporting that the L.A. City Attorney filed the charges yesterday. Gerard will be arraigned on June 10 and if convicted could face up to 6 months in jail. His lawyer, Blair Berk declined comment.

This makes my blood boil. WTH kind of agenda does this city attorney have? Why now? Wasn’t it reported that this was settled months ago?

Not according to TMZ. I think the papper was really antagonizing him for him to do that. Obviously I wasn’t there, but GB is bothered A LOT by pappers so for him to snap it’s so surprising.
I hope he\’s not deported.
Well, I guess that scumbag papper got the story he was after – but mom always said be careful what you wish for, as you just might get it. It will be interesting to see what comes out in court. I hope those on the street who came forward in Mr. Butler’s defense will do so again. And, don’t forget – he knows a bit about the law, also!
