My, my, my Gerard Butler is looking mighty hot these days.  I would say he’s been hitting the gym or getting his exercise in some other *cough* way.  The pictures are from him in Manhattan for Good Morning America, plus I have included the video from that interview and also him on the Craig Ferguson show.

If you haven’t seen the Craig Ferguson one it’s really quite adorable.  He and Craig are hysterical.

It’s here!  Today is Day 1 of Comic-Con in San Diego and the fun will continue until Sunday.   You-know-who will be making an appearance and by you-know-who I mean Robert Pattinson (and of course Kristen Stewart).

Pictured here though are Rumer Willis, Audrina Partridge, Lost’s Jorge Garcia and his girlfriend Leigh Shady (or his fiancee as she has a ring on ‘that’ finger), and Kristen Bell.

In an interview with U.K.’s ‘The Mirror’ Rupert Everett makes very controversial remarks about Michael Jackson, slams the U.S., slams Presidents Bush and Obama and even slams Gwyneth Paltrow.  I’m not sure how ‘legitimate’ this publication is and if this is truth or not.

On Michael Jackson’s life and death:

“He was a freak,” “He looked like a character from Shrek. He was a black to white minstrel. He was crucified by that court case when he was accused of child molestation – that killed him.”

Jackson “personified the pain and anxiety of a black man in a slave country,” Everett continues. “We all watched as he changed from black to white. He was living performance art. I think it was fortuitous that he died.”

On the much anticipated comeback performances:

“It wouldn’t have mattered how good or bad he was. He wouldn’t have managed to do all of them and the press would have destroyed him.”

I don’t know that I don’t disagree with him on that point.  The press loves doom and gloom and would probably not be kind.

The other weekend, Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl were at the Los Angeles Four Seasons Hotel where they had to evacuate because of a telephoned bomb threat.  I will be honest in that when I heard that, I had to wonder if it was a crazed fan hoping to catch a glimpse of him.  I can’t be the only one who thought that, right?

They were promoting The Ugly Truth which opens tomorrow.  Gerard sat down with the Los Angeles Times and gives advice to ‘pretty girls’:

“Pretty girls, lose the attitude,” “Who needs it? Life’s too short. You’re not a brain surgeon. In Los Angeles and New York, where there’s definitely a high concentration of beautiful women . . . a lot of them take themselves way too seriously. Their beauty feels like it’s become a weapon. There’s nothing more attractive to a guy than a beautiful woman who has her defenses down.”

On second thought:

“Well, maybe not that. That sounds animalistic, like you’re on the prowl.” He then clarifies.

The most alluring thing about a woman:

“a beautiful woman who seems unaware of it.”

When asked why he is often cast as a hero of yore:

“I think it’s because of my incredible power and charisma as a person.”  “I don’t know,” ”I’m fascinated with history in a dreamy way. . . . To take on these roles, when you dress up and go on these locations. . . . I find it exciting and incredibly profound.”

He admits to having met costar Katherine Heigl only two days before filming and was very impressed:

“From the second we met, I was bowled over. I always felt that Katie keeps me on my toes. I had to be on my game all the time. “Your nerve endings,” he says, relishing the memory, “they bristle a little more.”  “To be honest, I think I have chemistry with everybody,”
