What some guys will do to avoid buying a girl a birthday gift!  It seems Tony Romo has ended his relationship with Jessica Simpson the night before her 29th birthday.  I suppose there is never a good time to end a relationship, but I’m thinking the night before a birthday is way wrong.

People is reporting that a source has said:

“She is heartbroken,”  “She loves Tony. But it’s been difficult lately. He’s busy with his career and she’s getting ready to shoot her show (The Price of Beauty). They decided to part ways.”

Friday night he showed up at MyHouse with a bunch of male friends (and no birthday girl)and according to an onlooker:

“He had quite a few girls stop by his dance floor table,” says an onlooker. “Romo was sipping Grey Goose and having a fun time with the boys.”

Jessica was planning a Ken and Barbie themed birthday party, but it didn’t happen.  She Twittered on Saturday:

“Barbie party didn’t happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world I LOVE GETTING OLDER!”

Neither rep has commented on this rumour, but you can be sure of one thing:  the tabloids will have a field day with this.  Jessica’s ex-husband Nick Lachey just ended his relationship with Vanessa Mannillo and now that Jessica is single you can just imagine how they will take this and twist it into some sordid story.

This is a great interview, and you’ve got to hand it to Esquire magazine for doing it the way they did it.  They sent a reporter who did not know Gerard Butler at all.  Had no clue who this guy was, and in fact only gave him the address and a first name.  On top of that, the guy isn’t into movies much.

Gerry talks about the effect dreaming about acting had on him:

“The problem with my mind is it sways from side to side. The idea of me fantasizing about becoming an actor quickly led to depression. No, it was never going to happen to me. I was a sixteen-year-old kid on the other side of the world from where they made movies. Scottish actors never really got play. There was Sean Connery, and that was it.”

Before finishing University he took time off and came to America:

“I took some time off and went to America. This is when things started to go a little crazy. Something very compulsive and dark and lusty and pleasurable but damaging took over. It was suddenly knowing I could go out and have a life of traveling, craziness, adventure, partying, women, and all the other things that go with that — including a sense of abandonment. Being away from home and not having the same kind of discipline and structure in front of me meant I could do whatever the f*ck I wanted, and I did.”

Gwen Stefani and No Doubt performed last night at the First Midwest Bank Ampitheatre in Chicago as they continue to tour the U.S.

They’ve come to realize that they aren’t spring chickens anymore and need help in keeping the energy levels going says band member Tony Kanal:

“We travel with two personal trainers. We’re getting older and we can’t party like we used to,”

Gwen finds she needs to get all made up before she hits the gym:

“I have to wear make-up to the gym because I get some dude doing sit-ups next to me and surreptitiously taking pictures,”

The same thing happens to me except I’m in the basement of my house and the ‘dude’ is my husband.  Hey, it keeps things ‘fresh’.  Know what I mean?

Tomorrow night they play the MTS centre in Winnipeg.
