This look that RiRi has going on?  One word:  fierce.  Love those boots.  They go splendidly with that outfit Rihanna is rocking.  MUST. HAVE. THOSE. BOOTS.  So her hair….what do you think?  I’m not a fan but I understand her need to have her own sense of style and be true to it.

Now that we have the important stuff out of the way, do photographers always hang out at Cipriani’s on Wall Street?  Any New Yorkers out  there who can shed some light.  We hear about ‘people’ calling up ahead of time to alert the pappers but I would be surprised about that for Rihanna.  Mind you, anything’s possible isn’t it?

Brad Pitt looks comfy casual at the photocall in Berlin for Inglorious Basterds and then cleans up real nice at the premiere along with his costar Diane Kruger.  Diane, by the way, looks gorgeous at the premiere.

I don’t see one picture of Angelina Jolie so I’m assuming she did not attend with him.  However, given the movie opens August 21 and it is only July 28, perhaps she will be appearing at future premieres?

Blake Lively and Leighton Meester take to the streets of New York filming scenes for Gossip Girl right in Madonna’s neighbourhood.    I love that Blake Lively’s dog is staring right into the camera! 

The show aires September 15.

To me, Meryl Streep is one of the best actresses of our time.  She is versatile, funny, and beyond talented.  She plays Julia Child in Julie and Julia and judging from the trailers she nails it.  What else is new.  That’s Meryl! 

Her costar Amy Adams plays Julie Powell, the writer of the book.  Nora Ephron wrote the screenplay.  Costars Chris Messina, Jane Lynch and Mary Lynn Rajskub also attended the Los Angeles premiere as well as:

• Ashley Greene
• Maria Menounos
• Brittny Gastineau
• Giada de Laurentiis

Meryl Streep admits that she and her onscreen husband in the film played by Stanley Tucci, are somewhat like a married couple in real life:

“Stanley and I are always on opposite sides in a very famous charades game during Christmas. We’ve been at each other’s throats like married people for a long time, many years and we knew each other in that way.

“I’ve been in love with him from a far anyway with the totality of the man from Big Night to his directing work, in every way. It wasn’t a tough job imagining being in love with him.”

He’s impressive in the kitchen as well:

“I once invited him over for dinner (to bond) with (his wife) Kate and I decided I’d make blanket de foie and it was not quite done when they arrived and so Stanley came in and completely took over the kitchen. We didn’t eat until 11pm!”

To have Meryl Streep as a friend and hang with her would be so cool.

A piece of Madonna’s romantic side can be purchased at Rock & Roll Pop Art Auction.  Apparently two microcassette tapes of romantic answering machine messages (1992-1993) Madonna left her then boyfriend James Albright and 21 love letters she faxed him from hotels all around the world (1992-1994) will go up for auction with the bidding for the microcassettes to starts at $25,000, the letters at $2,000.   The items can be seen here.

According to the New York Post, ‘there is also a 15-minute, extended-footage VHS tape of her from Abel Ferrara’s 1993 film, “Dangerous Game,” co-starring Harvey Keitel and James Russo’.   They say on the tape (which is a movie within a movie) you can see that:

Madonna appears to snort cocaine, inhale nitrous oxide and expose her breasts while allowing Russo to snort cocaine off her body

The bidding for this tape will start at $10,000.  And because neither VHS or the audiotapes came with copyright, any new owner will not be able to resell the tapes.

In one of the letters she faxed to him she talks she writes:

“Just watched the  HBO special. It was OK. My booty looked good and you should see how good it looks in person. It looks Bootyful!”

The seller of all of this is unknown so I guess we can safely assume that means it isn’t Albright.  Having said that it really makes you wonder how it got into the hands of the seller.  Did Albright move somewhere and just happen to leave this stuff behind?  Unlikely.  Did he sell it to someone to make some money?  I can understand keeping love letters, but cassettes from an old answering machine seems odd to me.    Regardless, I’m sure Madonna could care less.  Madonna’s rep had no comment and Albright could not be reached for comment.
