How sad is this news?  Patrick Swayze lost his battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 57.  His rep released this statement:

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,“

Patrick continued working on his series ‘The Beast‘ even when undergoing chemotherapy.  His brother, Don, referred to him in his fight with the disease as a ‘warrior’.

He met his wife Lisa Niemi at his mom’s dance studio in Houston, Texas.  They had been married 32.  He credited his wife as his inspiration for his roles in The Outsiders (1983), Dirty Dancing (1987) and Ghost (1990).

Despite chemotheraphy being ‘hell on wheels’ Patrick told the New York Times in 2008:

“There is probably that little bird that flies through your insides and says, ‘I sure would like to make a mark in life,’” he said. “I’ve made a pretty decent mark so far – nothing to scoff at. But it does make you think: Wait a minute. There’s more I want to do. Lots more. Get on with it.”

Our sincerest condolences to his family.

When I look at these pictures of Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page holding onto each other the way they do, I think mutual admiration society.   Drew Barrymore is the kind of woman every woman should be so lucky to have a friend like:  intelligent, nice, kind, down-to-earth, and fun.  No games, no drama.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher pose on the red carpet for the premiere of  Demi’s new movie ‘The Joneses‘ at The Toronto Film Festival this weekend.  Demi looks lovely in yellow, no?

This drama also stars David Duchovny, Glenne Headley, Ben Hollingsworth, and Amber Heard.

I think Lady GaGa is such a talented artist.  Her costumes crack me up and last night’s at the 2009 VMA’s didn’t disappoint.  The wreath on the face is my favourite.

I’m almost envious of her creativity. I couldn’t possibly dream up outfits like that even if I was on hallucinogens. I think it’s great she is ‘green’ in that she recycles various household objects like wreaths and toilet brushes (her disco stick that we’ve seen her use on past performances).

Taylor Swift gets the main picture simply because Kanye West is a d-bag.  I’ve calmed down over his ignorant behaviour from last night but I still can’t believe he did that.
