Both Matt Damon and Bono are in New York participating in different political causes.

Matt attended the Fifth Annual Meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative where he announced the new Water.org’s commitment of $2 million to provide 50,000 people in Haiti with safe water and sanitation over the next three years.

U2′s Bono attended the 2009 Appeal of Conscience Foundation Annual Awards where he is pictured with Dr. Henry Kissinger as well as Queen Rania of Jordan.  British Prime Minister Gordon Brown was honoured with the Appeal of Conscience World Statesman Award.

This foundation was founded by Rabbi Arthur Schneier in 1965, has worked on behalf of religious freedom and human rights throughout the world.

Mary J. Blige was honoured last night at the New Yorkers For Children’s ‘Make It Happen’ Tenth Annual Gala with the Nicholas Scoppetta Child Welfare Award.

Anderson Cooper hosted the event that helped to raise over $1.5 Million to benefit educational programs.  The site can be accessed here.

Last night the women danced on Dancing With The Stars after the men danced on Monday night.  The judges seemed less harsh (or cranky) then the night before although there were some ‘moments’ between Len and Bruno.

Of the women last night, I have to say that Kelly Osbourne pleasantly surprised me.  I had this image of her as a feisty tomboy and she was so graceful, so lovely and when she went to her father and mother after her Waltz I have to say I had tears in my eyes, as did her dance professional partner, Louis Van Amstel.  It was such a lovely moment.

I wasn’t surprised by Joanna Krupa’s strong performance.  She has one of the best teachers, Derek Hough not to mention she is very competitive and driven.

I was also surprised by how well Macy Gray did although she looked like she had partaken in a little reefer madness beforehand.  Not saying she did, maybe that’s just her nature.  Who knows?

I loved Kathy Ireland’s fox trot and I hope that she stays in the game because I think she has great potential.

Mya was phenomenal but I learned from a friend on Twitter that she has a dance background in jazz, tap, hip hop, etc.  and so obviously has an advantage over the others.

Of the men the night before Donny Osmond and Aaron Carter are the two strongest but believe it or not I think Chuck Liddell has great potential as does Michael Irvin who has a very nice physique!  Mark Dacascos is nice, yes??

My respect and admiration for Mariah Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon just got real big.  It seems he had been wanting her for a very long time before they actually got together, Mariah has shared with Barbara Walters on Barbara’s Sirius XM radio show Here’s Barbara:

“He likes to say that he spoke it into existence. He told everybody who he thought might know me, ‘Tell your girl Mariah that I want to talk to her.’ All this stuff. I didn’t know him, but I didn’t know what to believe.”

They met in 2005 at the Teen Choice Awards when he presented her with her award:

“He told me that he said to the people that were doing the show, that he wouldn’t do it, unless he could present my award to me. I said, ‘Thank you for all the nice things that you’ve been saying about me.’ And he said, ‘I meant everything – give me a chance.’ And then I didn’t see him again for two years.”

But that all changed when she wanted him for her Bye Bye video:

“I always remembered the moment. We were doing a video and there was going to be a love interest in it. And we were thinking of all different actors and people – we wanted it to look authentic. And I said, ‘Oh, what about Nick Cannon?’ “

That’s a nice love story, isn’t it?  It has all the elements of a fairytale romance:  music, adoration and a stalking.
