The Gay and Lesbian Straight Education Network held its 5th Annual Respect Awards in Beverly Hills last night.

Dancing With the Stars’ Melissa Joan Hart, Mark Ballas (how you doin’???), Kelly Osbourne, Debi Mazar and Louis Van Amstel attended along with Chandra Wilson and Sara Ramirez of Grey’s Anatomy.

   What the hell was Melissa Joan Hart doing at a gay awards event? She’s made homophobic remarks in the past (google it) as well as her mother also commenting in her Lifetime Profile episode, that Melissa would never play a lesbian because it’d be inappropriate as a former “teen role model.” Melissa was probably just picking up a paycheck and couldn’t have cared less what the event was about.
