American Idol winner, Kris Allen played B.B. King’s Blues Club in Las Vegas yesterday at midnight.  Kris recently took to Twitter where he announced his father is no longer in his will:

My dad just compared me to Rick astley. That’s automatic cutoff from the will.

That’s too cute!  The next season of American Idol premieres on January 12 and 13th at 8/7 central.  I can’t wait to see Ellen DeGeneres on the show!

Claudia Schiffer shares her New Years resolutions for 2010:

“I would love to learn to cook. And to carry on with my charity work as an ambassador for UNICEF. This year I’ve done a lot of pep talks to companies to raise funds and awareness. I want to take the time to be available when they need me.”

And although she eats healthy, Claudia Schiffer is one of those people who rarely exercises grrrrrr:

“I follow healthy eating rules about eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, fish and not a lot of meat,” she said. “And I started Pilates recently. It has made a huge difference to my body. I never used to work out much in my 20s and 30s and this is the first time in my life where I have enjoyed it.”

Angelina Jolie is still on the set in New York re-shooting scenes for ‘Salt‘ where she is seen carrying the book ’Stones into Schools: Promoting Peace with Books, Not Bombs, in Afghanistan and Pakistan‘ by Greg Mortenson.

Meanwhile life-partner Brad Pitt takes the kids to Dave & Busters at Times Square where he is mobbed by fans and photographers.  I feel bad for the kids because they look terrified.  Times Square has got to be the busiest place on earth especially this time of year, I can only imagine how insane it was for them.

Rachel McAdams had a figure skating coach that told her she was too smart for skating:

“My skating coach always said to me, ‘You’d be a lot better if you were dumb,’ because you can’t let your brain get in the way. And I think it’s the same thing with acting – you have to do a lot of thinking before you get there, but once you do, you have to give yourself over to the universe and not think too much.”

Nice coach!  Despite not being dumb enough for the sport, her stage fright is the real reason she never pursued a skating career despite lessons from a young girl into her teens:

“I loved figure skating but I was way too nervous,” she is quoted as saying. “I would often suffer from stage fright. I don’t get it on stage, I have it on the ice. It’s weird because I rarely forget my lines but I would forget my routine. My knees would knock together and I would just get super nervous.”

How does she not get nervous being on a set full of lots of strangers watching you as you act?

Robert Pattinson isn’t sure if he needs to stay pale for his film career, but it won’t much matter anyways:

“I don’t think it’s written into my contract that I can’t go out in the sun,” he mused. “I haven’t read the contract, but I don’t really get a tan anyway. I need to sit in the sun for about five weeks to get a tan, so it doesn’t make any difference.”

Dude needs to read his contract.  Never rely on others to read those things for you.  I’m sure if he showed up on the set looking like this he would probably be in a bit of trouble.  And word is altering his hair is not an option as per his contract, so I would have to think staying pasty white is also a concern.

Robert felt the pressure to get in shape for the second Twilight installment because of Taylor Lautner’s beefy new physique in the film:

“It did pressure me. I mean, Taylor shakes hands very hard. It’s very intimidating! But it’s hard work. When I came back to the set for New Moon I hadn’t seen Taylor and he’d put on 30lbs! I was like, ‘Christ,’ “

It’s interesting to know that guys feel that kind of pressure too.

Christina Applegate is currently promoting her new film Alvin and the Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel where she is lending her voice to the one of the Chipettes in the film.  She tells Parade that her shift in life has changed and therefore her hopes for 2010:

“The things I pray for are a lot different than they used to be. I pray that I’ll find joy and happiness in whatever comes my way rather than being totally focused on getting the thing that will advance my career,” ”It’s not that I’m less ambitious, it’s just that I used to feel that if my life wasn’t a certain way I wasn’t going to be happy. Then I shifted gears in my consciousness. I really accept the fact that my life is blessed and that it doesn’t matter if I’m successful in this business or something else.”

Christina is a cancer survivor after undergoing a double mastectomy in August 2008 when she had found cancer in one breast.  She talks about the new guidelines the government has set out for women and breast cancer detection:

“Don’t even get me started. Look, I just started to sweat. I get a little angry. I don’t mind being outspoken about that. I think that is the most atrocious thing that I’ve ever heard. I was 36 years old when I had breast cancer, and you’re going to have people wait until, like, they’re 50 to get screened? It irks my whole body. I’m telling you it’s not going to
happen. We women will fight against that as much as we can.”

Women (and men) really do need to band together to protest that change.  I’m glad celebrities like Christina Applegate are willing to put their celebrity to use for such an important cause.
