Avatar leads with 8  nominations for the BAFTA Awards including Best Film and Best Sound and Special Effects, with James Cameron picking up a nomination for Best Director.

The Hurt Locker also received eight nominations with District 9 receiving seven, Inglourious Basterds and Up in the Air six, and Coco Before Chanel, Nowhere Boy, Precious and Up four.

George Clooney has been nominated for Best Actor for his performance in Up in the Air. He is up against Jeff Bridges, Colin Firth, Jeremy Renner and Andy Serkis.

Meryl Streep is up for the Best Actress award, as is Carey Mulligan, Saoirse Ronan, Audrey Tautou and Gabourey Sidibe.  This is Meryl’s 13^th BAFTA nomination.

The 2010 BAFTA Awards will take place on Sunday, February 21, at London’s Royal Opera House.

Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian appeared on George Lopez last night where they discussed Khloe’shusband’s penchant for eating candy in bed:

“Ninety per cent of the time, Lamar is eating candy,” “He loves skittles, chocolate and oreos. He falls asleep later than I do so I wake up with candy on my body! They’re not in sexual places. I wish they were in sexual places. That would be fun.”

Kim Kardashian also revealed a couple things about Reggie Bush that I’m sure he’s real happy she did:

“Our biggest fight is that he is just really indecisive on what he wants to wear”

And according to Kim, Reggie has a ‘strange‘ obsession:

“He’s got a really weird habit,” “He loves to vacuum all day. He is going to kill me for saying that!”

Yeah, he probably is not at all happy that she revealed that, as I’m sure his teammates are going to be teasing him forever about that one.

But she’s crazy if she thinks it’s a strange obsession. Personally I would consider it a gift from the Universe:  A hot guy that vacuums!  Is there anything better?

Those rumours of Jennifer Lopez appearing on Glee are true.  Creator Ryan Murphy tells People:

“We are writing a role for Ms Jennifer Lopez, who we love. We want her to be a cafeteria lady. ”I have a meeting with her in a couple of weeks”

And on top of that episode they are working on a special Madonna one although I don’t know that means Madonna herself will be on.

Some people are going to take this news pretty hard, but Marisa Miller is no longer a Victoria’s Secret Angel.  *gasp* It is not known why the relationship has ended but Marisa has strutted her incredible body down their runways since 2007.

She donned a diamond Fantasy Bra at last year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion show that had 2,300 white, champagne and cognac diamonds with a 16-carat heart-shaped yellow diamond pendant that was valued at $3 million.

Don’t shoot the messenger.

UPDATE: TMZ is reporting that this is just a rumour and Marisa still is an Angel!! Woo Hoo.  I don’t have to sleep with one eye open tonight.

Simon Cowell just signed a $1 Billion deal with Sony that will see him take part ownership of his label Syco (Psycho??) that was wholly-owned by Sony and now means profits are to be split down the middle.

The contract includes X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent franchises to be sold to more countries, which will earn him $500 Million a year for the next two years.  He will also have joint control over the artists on the label which include Susan Boyle, Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke.  Simon says of the joint venture with Sony:

“I’ve had a fantastic relationship with Sony. I’m delighted we’re launching this venture”

Yeah I’d be delighted too.  I’d sell my soul to some raggedy old executive for that deal.  And don’t you worry your pretty little heads.  My husband would be more than fine and would probably be setting the hotel arrangements and booking my Brazilian for that little ‘meeting’.

Sony boss Sir Howard Stringer is equally delighted:

“This allows us to pursue a host of opportunities with this supremely talented individual”

Talented meaning ca-ching.

Madonna’s former trainer, Tracy Anderson explains to Grazia magazine just how she liked to humiliate Madonna during her workouts hardcore Madonna is during her workouts:

“Madonna is a total one-off. She is like a professional athlete,”  “She pushes herself harder than anyone I have ever known and she is willing to do anything – and I mean anything – to get results. Once I had her swinging from a cube suspended ten feet in the air, doing 80 butt lifts with a hula hoop balanced on her big toe!”

That sounds a  tad kinky so I think I like it.  Tracy also addresses the so-called ‘falling out’ she and Madonna had because of a relationship Tracy had with the head of Raising Malawi charity (Madonna’s charity), Philippe van den Bossche, who quit when the romance became serious last year:

“I know people make a scandal out of it but that just isn’t the case. Madonna gave us her blessing. She and I are very good friends,” “Madonna trains two hours every day. That meant I had to be wherever she was. My son Sam hated being away from school. I also have my business. What we had was wonderful, but it couldn’t continue.”

I’m not saying it was, but would you admit to a fall-out with one of the most powerful women in the industry who also happens to be freakishly strong, all vein-like and can bench-press your grandmother while popping your head off with her thighs?
