How disappointing for parents the world over, I know.  But in addition to her not dreaming that dream, she’s actually pissed at the parents of her fans calling them ‘selfish’:

“My job is to be a role model, and that’s what I want to do, but my job isn’t to be a parent,” “My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I’m still figuring that out for myself. So to take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes whether I do or not. That’s just life.”

Her mistakes she is referring to of course are the private raunchy pictures that have leaked online of her as well as the inappropriate mocking of Asians in another photo that she downplayed.  She still doesn’t understand what the fuss is about her Annie Leibovitz pictures that shocked the world:

“Here, my parents are thinking they’re seeing a beautiful picture by a major photographer, and the people of America want to see something dirty in that?”  ”It doesn’t make sense to us because [my family] doesn’t look for negativity. But people don’t want to say ‘What a great performance’ or ‘What a great shot.’ No one wants to look at something like that and see the positive because it doesn’t sell a magazine.”

Um, it wasn’t just America.   Canada (and other countries) didn’t think it was a ‘beautiful’ picture, not that I speak for all Canadians.

Canadian cutie Michael Cera and co-star Portia Doubleday pose with Portia’s dog at the premiere of Youth in Revolt in Los Angeles last night.

Call me crazy for asking what seems to be an obvious question, but why do people bring their dogs to premieres or other Hollywood events??  I imagine the flashing of the bulbs and the hysteria probably scares the sh*t out of the dogs and I’m sure the dogs are really unimpressed with the whole Hollywood scene to begin with.  Food, run, ball, poop.  That’s what interests dogs.

In the movie, Michael’s character sets some goals:

While his trailer trash parents teeter on the edge of divorce, Nick Twisp sets his sights on dream girl Sheeni Saunders, hoping that she’ll be the one to take away his virginity

The movie opens tomorrow in theatres.

Kristen Bell sits down with Parade Magazine and explains she likens herself to an Elf after working alongside Christina Aguilera in Burlesque:

“It’s tough stuff because there’s a lot of dancing. This strip club is run by Cher, and the girls look fantastic, especially Christina Aguilera, who just blows me away with her talent,” I’ve come to terms with the fact that I’m never going to look like her. I’m a little bit closer to an elf in Santa’s workshop.”

That’s too funny.  After seeing her amazing figure in Forgetting Sarah Marshall this woman has nothing to worry about at all.

She talks about her role in Burlesque as well as how her love scenes won’t bother her father:

“I’m a burlesque dancer who’s an alcoholic, so I’m playing sexier than I’ve ever done before. You won’t see me naked, wearing pasties and a g-string or anything. But you definitely won’t think of me as the girl next door either,” My dad is always been really cool about my love scenes. He won’t need to worry about my new film When in Rome though – it’s not salacious or explicit, but it does get very romantic.”

Amy Adams is the vision of loveliness as she poses on the red carpet for the world premiere of Leap Year last night in New York.  Amy is pregnant with her first baby with fiancee and baby daddy Darren Le Gallo.  The romantic comedy also starring Adam Scott, John Lithgow and Matthew Goode is described as:

A woman (Adams) who has an elaborate scheme to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day, an Irish tradition which occurs every time the date February 29 rolls around, faces a major setback when bad weather threatens to derail her planned trip to Dublin. With the help of an innkeeper, however, her cross-country odyssey just might result in her getting engaged.

Also attending the premiere:  Rob Thomas (purrrrr) and his wife Marisol Thomas, Sophie Dymoke, Dreama Walker, Russell Simmons, Breckin Meyer and others.

Alleged details of how Russell Brand proposed to Katy Perry have emerged.  It is being reported the two got engaged New Years Eve in India during a commitment ceremony at the Taj Rambagh Palace hotel.

Russell Brand chose the dress she wore (a £600 traditional Indian dress) to the ceremony where (according to a source telling Britain’s The Sun newspaper):

“He had organised a special dining experience. We set a table in a garden with candles everywhere, They arrived in a horse and carriage with a glass of champagne and we served them dinner”

“At midnight they enjoyed fireworks while sitting on an elephant, which Mr Brand specially requested. Then they were taken to the Mughal Garden – which was decorated by flowers and candlelight.

“Mr Brand had given his butler the diamond ring to hide among the flowers. Miss Perry found it, he proposed, and she immediately said ‘Yes’. After that they requested 45 minutes’ privacy. They looked like they were beautifully in love.”

There are rumours that they plan to marry quickly, but there are also rumours they are coming back already married, so who knows if any of this is real.  Russell has allegedly asked his manager, Nik Linnen to be best man:

“Russell caught everyone off-guard with the engagement,” a source said. “They’ve decided they won’t be messing about and have already made a start on the plans for the big day.”

Assuming these details are accurate, are you surprised by how romantic Russell Brand is?
