Will We See Kiefer Sutherland in ’24 The Movie’?
Could it be we will be seeing Kiefer Sutherland on the big screen as Jack Bauer? I usually don’t like to drool in public, but whatever. It’s not like I’ll be seeing the people in the theatre any time soon.
Word is that talks are underway with Billy Ray (no, not Cyrus, the man behind State of Play) to write the screenplay and in fact he has even pitched his version of it.
But cool your jets because it hasn’t yet been decided if season 9 of 24 will be picked up. The powers that be at Fox are waiting to see how the show does. Episode 23 and 24 are not yet written so whether a series finale will be penned in is not known at this time. The show is down in ratings from last year by 10%.
Kiefer had told EW in January that he would love to do a 24 movie:
”I actually tried to convince a few people of this. In a media world that is changing unbelievably fast, a television series can either act as a great trailer for a film, or a film can act as a great trailer for a television series. And I think the first person who actually does that is going to change the way television interacts with feature films.
“I think the resistance to it is because, in my father’s generation, if you did films, you didn’t even think about television,” “That was a death knell. And if you did television, you wouldn’t be allowed to do films. That was when we had three networks. We have six hundred now, and if I want to see Paul Newman in a movie, I don’t have to go out. And so the game has changed. And I think we’re going to have to adjust with it.”
Personally I would listen to Kiefer. I would do anything he said.

Ok, forget about the 24 movie, what do you think about all these marriage rumors. Do you think Kiefer is going down the aisle anytime soon. Need to know, help, lol.
Btw, I am still holding out hope for S9 but didn\’t realize the ratings are down that much. How bad is that?
I had not heard those rumours, OR I am conveniently ignoring them.
10% is a lot to be down I would think.
