Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan lost his beloved pit bull Daddy on Friday February 19 at the age of 16.  On his website Cesar said of Daddy:

He lived each day of those sixteen years happy and fulfilled as Cesar’s right-hand-“man,” helping to shape the behavior of entire generations of dogs by showing them the way to balance. He stood as champion for calm-submissive pit bulls everywhere, and was instrumental in helping to repair their image as violent, savage, uncontrollable beasts. He successfully battled cancer and weathered chemotherapy, and even got the opportunity to present at the 56th Annual Creative Arts Emmy Awards!

Our sincere condolences on the loss of his beloved dog.  Anyone who is an animal lover knows how difficult it is to lose a family pet.

Alexa Ray Joel will follow in mom Christie Brinkley’s footsteps by appearing in Prell shampoo ads, but the difference is (and the only reason she agreed to do it) the commercials will feature her music.  Says Alexa:

“I am so excited and honored to be named the new face of Prell — especially following in the footsteps of my mother, who was a Prell girl.”

The shampoo, originally introduced by Proctor & Gamble featured Christie Brinkley in 1986 (the sound is a bit wonky but what do you expect from something almost 25 years old):

Alexa’s rep says:

“This is Alexa’s first ad campaign. It is for print and TV for spring and summer. We will also shoot a fall campaign.”

One of my favourite actresses Kate Winslet poses with Colin Firth (who I must say is growing on me in recent days) and it looks to be a mutual admiration society of these two.  Colin Firth won for Leading Actor in A Single Man.

Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker cleaned up at the BAFTAs with six wins including Best Picture and Director beating out ex-husband James Cameron for Avatar (which btw I saw it this weekend for the first time and it is as great as everyone says it is). Cameron has been very vocal about his support for his ex-wife which is fabulous. This, of course only adds to the Oscar buzz considering she has won a Producers Guild Award, Critics Choice Award, Writers Guild Award and a Director’s Guild Award in various categories for The Hurt Locker.

Prince William greets fans as he walks the red carpet at the Orange British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) in London today.  The approachable Prince posed for pictures and kissed some fans making a lot of girls squeal I’m sure. I let out a very large oink when I saw these photos.

I wonder who got more screams on the red carpet, him or Robert Pattinson?
