full_wga_awards_13_wenn2747810

Mila Kunis was on hand at the Writers Guild Awards last night in Los Angeles where Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker and Jason Reitman’s Up In The Air won Best Original Screenplay and Best Adapted Screenplay respectively.

The buzz is that Kathryn is a favourite for Best Director at the Oscars.  If she does she will make Oscar history for being the first woman to ever win. Sofia Coppola was the first woman ever nominated in 2003 for Lost in Translation.

Also in attendance last night:

  • James Cameron
  • Cheryl Hines
  • Morgan Freeman
  • John Corbett
  • Larry David
  • Judd Apatow
  • Lesie Mann
  • Jason Segel
  • Billy Crystal

Kristen Stewart @ The Yellow Handkerchief Premiere

full_the_yellow_handkerchief_08_wenn2745650

I almost didn’t recognize Kristen Stewart without Robert Pattinson beside her.  She was (without him) at the premiere of The Yellow Handkerchief at the Pacific Design Centre in Los Angeles last night looking uncomfortable as she tends to at these things.

She recently talked about filming the fourth instalment of the Twilight Series:  Breaking Dawn:

“I have been told to be ready for November. I mean, it looks like a ‘yes’ but it’s still not concrete.”

And does she think it should be done in two parts:

“It absolutely warrants being two films. It would be hard to cram all of it into one movie.

Kristen will be presenting with her Twilight co-star Taylor Lautner at the Oscar Awards which take place March 7.

full_paris_nine_premiere_19_wenn5432304

Penelope Cruz and Marion Cotillard are all smiles at the Paris, France premiere of ‘Nine‘ held at the Cinema Gaumont Marignan along with co-star Daniel Day-Lewis and director Rob Marshall.

They must be getting excited for the Oscars as Penelope is nominated for her supporting role and Nine is also nominated for best Costume Design and Art Direction.

Penelope and Daniel Day-Lewis are featured in the New York Times Annual Oscar issue which is featuring on-screen couples.  Have you seen Nine?  I’ve heard many good things about it.

Simon Cowell & His Non-Fiancee Go For A Stroll

100218X5_COWELL_B-GR_01

Although yesterday I reported American Idol’s Simon Cowell was engaged to Mezhgan Hussainy, I also said I didn’t believe it.  Here he is out for a stroll (because Simon does that all the time, right?) with his non-fiancee, but maybe fiancee  in Beverly Hills.

She really is quite a looker isn’t she?  And that house is pretty awesome looking too.  The pictures indicate it’s in Simon’s neighbourhood so I’m not sure if it’s his house or not.  Sorry stalker people.  I wish I could be more definitive on that.

Yesterday his publicist came out  and said Simon wasn’t engaged:

“I spoke to Simon in London, just before he took his flight back to Los Angeles. I asked him, ‘Look, are you engaged? Is it true?’ and he said, ‘No! No. I’m not engaged.’

However, Simon’s mom may have let the cat out of the bag:

“I’m shocked. I was the first person he called to say he was getting engaged.

“He’s very contented with her. She’s a lovely woman and I’m delighted she’s so happy. I thought I would have departed from this world before Simon got married. I’m so happy he’s committed to this girl.”

I still don’t believe he’s engaged.  I believe he’s involved with Meg and is happy (can you blame him?) but at this stage in his life it seems odd that he would want to settle down if he hasn’t already.

So why do I bother with this post you ask?  It’s a very slow news day.  :)

Quote of the Day by Adam Lambert

wenn2743658

“I feel bad. I didn’t mean to make her feel bad. I was trying to record an acoustic song. We were recording the concert and it was very quiet and intimate and she was in the third row, quite loud on her cell phone. I just told her to please get off of it because I (couldn’t) concentrate… I made sure afterwards to kind of blow her a kiss and like, make amends.

“I didn’t want to really embarrass her. For that moment she needed to be a little embarrassed and she needed to learn that lesson and I’m glad.”

……Adam Lambert to Access Hollywood he feels bad for telling a lady to shut her cell phone off during his performance

Jennifer Hudson’s ‘Got Milk’ [Behind the Scenes PHOTOS]

full_wenn5432113

We see Jennifer Hudson behind the scene filming  as she lends her name to the Got Milk? campaign urging people to lead a healthy lifestyle:

“How do I keep my show on the road? Milk. Its wholesome goodness helps make my family strong at every stage. Talk about a powerful performance.”

She tells E! News:

“I’m very excited to be part of the milk moustache campaign. I think milk was a part of everybody’s tradition in their family. It keeps you healthy and strong so it was definitely part of my upbringing for sure. I definitely want it on my kitchen table.”
