Who does not love Betty White? She attended last night’s Time’s 100 Most Influential People Gala in New York where she happens to be in town for her Saturday Night Live hosting duties which we will get to see on Saturday!

Will you be watching? Something tells me their ratings are going to go through the roof. I hope she is her naughty self on the show  SNL‘s Adam Samberg, who was also at the event told ET that working with Betty this week was:

“bedlam. She’s a party animal, bouncing off the walls.”

The View’s Elizabeth Hasselbeck is coming under a lot of fire from the Dancing With The Stars pros and celebrities and rightly so.  In regards to Erin Andrews‘ costumes, Elizabeth had this to say:

“In light of what happened … and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room … I mean, in some way if I [was] him, I [would be] like, ‘Man! I just could’ve waited 12 weeks and seen this — a little bit less — without the prison time!’”

I understand Elizabeth is very conservative but that is akin to saying ‘she was asking for it’ or girls that dress provocatively are asking for it which is beyond STUPID but also exonerates rapists, and predators from their actions, not to mention shows her complete ignorance.  As a woman and a mother (of a daughter!) Elizabeth needs to get her head out of her ass.

Erin cried when she heard what she had to say and responds:

“I think people can have opinions about the show, but my biggest complaint is she’s a woman and a mother and it was a mockery of something I’ve lived through this last year. … I felt like it was a slap in the face for victims of stalkers and victims of sexual predators.”

Erin’s dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy came to her defense:

“”I’m the one designing [Andrews'] dresses for the show, so I’ll just assume that [Hasselbeck] is jealous… and stupid….

Dance pro Louis Van Amstel Twittered to Elizabeth:

“Why did u have to throw @erinandrewsespn under the bus this morning? Shame on [you] … Leave her alone. Aren’t u all working for the same network ABC/ESPN???? U should have each other’s back, not trashtalk Erin.”

Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek even weighed in on it:

“So disappointed that anyone would attack [her] after all she’s been through.”

The fact that it was men who came to Erin’s defense of Elizbabeth’s view should tell her a lot.  What is considered sexy is a very subjective thing.  Are women supposed to dress according to what doesn’t set a freak off? What if turtlenecks gets some psycho all worked up?  Should we cease to wear those as well?  Should everyone stop living and going out because of Terrorists? Where is the logic in what she was suggesting?

Let’s stop making excuses for inexcusable behaviour (sexual assaults, stalking, and predator-like behaviour) and teach people what is allowable and what isn’t.

Women changing the way they dress does not address the real issue.  Elizabeth really owes Erin an apology not to mention shut her pie-hole.

Update:  On todays The View, Elizabeth was very apologetic (she cried and she did appear sincere) and mentioned she personally called Erin to apologize.  While that is good (and appropriate) I think she still doesn’t realize the ‘message’ her comment conveyed.

U2′s Bono and Adam Clayton were at the New York premiere of The Lazarus Effect, an HBO documentary about the AIDS/HIV crisis in Africa and the impact of the antiretroviral (Arv) drugs used to fight AIDS/HIV.

Nike teamed up at the premiere with their Lace Up, Save Lives campaign in which if you purchase RED laces from Nike, 100% of the proceeds go to various funds. According to Nike’s site:

You purchase (NIKE)RED laces.

Nike is contributing 100% of its profits from the sale to the Global Fund and to football-based programs that help fight AIDS in Africa.

Funds are received by programs like Grassroots Soccer, which uses football as a framework to teach youths how to avoid contracting HIV/AIDS.

Funds are also contributed to The Global Fund to fund HIV/AIDS programs that support the purchase of lifesaving Antiretroviral (ARV) medication, training of medical staff, HIV testing and treatment to help prevent the transmission of the virus from pregnant mothers to their babies.

Life-saving knowledge is received by the next generation in Africa.

Since its inception, (RED)™ partners and events have generated over £80 million to the Global Fund and the number keeps growing.

Lindsay Lohan showed up to her deposition yesterday with her mom Dina 22 minutes late and was met with insanity by all of the pappers.  TMZ has some video of her making her way through the throng of pappers.

Apparently she spent more than 6 hours at the lawyers office being grilled for the 2007 wild, drunken car ride. She looks pretty composed all things considered.  Her lawyer Ed McPherson says of the deposition:

“Lindsay sat through an absurdly long deposition, and answered every question truthfully and honestly,” Lohan’s attorney, “We are anxious to go to trial so that she will be vindicated once and for all.”

Three men are suing the actress, accusing her of kidnapping and endangering their lives. The trio claims Lohan jumped into a vehicle they were passengers in and took off on a wild ride along the Pacific Coast Highway.

How appropriate that on Hump Day I have Patrick Dempsey news.  McDreamy has been confirmed to star in the Transformers 3 movie!  Thank you Paramount Pictures.

The plot is shrouded in secrecy but it is confirmed he will play Megan Fox‘s boss and his role is “significant to the plot.” Translated:  Lots of Patrick Dempsey screen time.  Holla!!

The movie begins filming this month around the U.S. and in Africa, as well as Moscow and China.  If I can get my paws on photos of him shooting this rumour you know where to come

Julia Louis-Dreyfus was honoured yesterday with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame where some of her cast of The New Adventures of Old Christine came to support her as did Jason Alexander and Larry David (is it wrong that I’m attracted to him a bit??) from her Seinfeld days.

And of course her family, husband Brad Hall and sons Henry and Charles were there where they looked so proud of her.  She is the first from the Seinfeld cast to receive a star!

Four hours prior to the ceremony the CNN producer David Daniel noticed her name was spelled incorrectly.  There was no ‘o’ in Louis and no hyphen.  Julia found the misspelling ‘hysterical’.  They quickly repaired the mistake and you can see from the picture that part of the name doesn’t look as shiny as the rest of her name (it’s a temporary fix).  She will get the incorrect star for keepsakes.

Of the error, she told the Associated Press:

“The misspelling was so perfectly apt, a great metaphor for show business “Right when you think you’ve made it, you get knocked down. It’s an ideal metaphor for how this business works.”
