I was given access to Sons Of Sylvia’s latest album Revelation and I have to say I really enjoyed it. The album was recorded in Nashville, Los Angeles, and Vancouver and featured production by Jack Joseph Puig, Ryan Tedder, Jeff Trott, Brian Howes, Gerald O’Brien, Catt Gravitt, and Mike Shimshack along with co-writes by them and Lindy Robbin.
Revelation features 10 songs:
John Wayne
Love Left to Lose
Revelation
50 Ways
Song of Solomon
Give Me Love
Ghost Town
Long Beach
I’ll Know You
The War Within
The first single from the album Love Left To Lose is excellent with a great beat. I love the part where they sing ‘Whatcha waiting for? one more step and you’re out the door‘:
John Wayne is a romantic song where a man professes love for a woman (I want you back in my arms) that captures the west feel with banjos, strings and a melancholy type of vibe throughout. Very cool song.
50 Ways is, to me (and remember I’m not a music critic but I know what I like when I hear it) kind of rock, pop-like, and fusion all mixed in.
Song of Solomon is beautifully written with beautiful strings as well. It talks about having faith, not doing anything in vain. ‘Love will conquer all’ is the message behind this song about hope.
I LOVED the beat of Give Me Love.
The War Within sounds very much like the military at the beginning with some very dark guitar riffs. Cool guitar riffs. I immediately thought Slash meets Bono at the beginning of the song.
Visit their site SonsofSylvia.com where you can purchase their songs or the whole album.
They are currently on tour with Mrs. Mike Fisher, better known as Carrie Underwood (although I’m pretty sure they aren’t with her and Mike on their honeymoon). Check out their site to see if they come to a venue near you.
Mr Big himself Chris Noth attended the launch of Live Table Games at Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania on the weekend.
Judging by the look on his face I don’t think his roll at the craps table worked out to his liking.
Chris also shows off a Sex and the City slot machine. And if you notice Mr Big is on top. You know that’s no coincidence He looks mischievous in these pictures which has started my motor purring a little.
“I had the great opportunity to meet Brad Pitt a couple of times. what a beauty. He is beautiful and his physicality is so amazing to see.
“But the beauty really comes from different places – the way he talks, the way he’s interested in what you’re saying. And that body is like – wow! It’s amazing, no? He really made me feel very, like. I don’t know, like, I could fall in love with him!
“Like a teenage girl getting crazy and screaming like that. I met him only twice, but he was so nice, so generous and very true to himself, and I don’t know him that well, but I would say it’s a good self. And that is when the beautycomes, voom! And if you have a body besides that, then it’s like, ‘F**k!’ “
….Javier Bardem talks about his man crush on Brad Pitt. Um. Okay. Sounds like Javier has it REALLY bad for Brad.
Jennifer Aniston‘s sexy topless photos for her perfume Lolavie have hit the web. The perfume will hit Harrod’s on Wednesday and these are supposed to be the ads for the perfume although the quality isn’t very good. I’m not sure if that’s due to change or what.
The scent, whose name roughly translates to Laughing At Life is one she took personal interest in:
‘It wasn’t just about showing up for a shoot and putting my name on the bottle,’ she says. ‘I felt like a little chemist. It’s turned out to be an extension of myself as opposed to slapping my name on something.’
‘I am not a big perfume-y fragrance fan,’ she explains. ‘I want people to go “what is that?” You smell great!” But most of all, I wanted it to smell natural.’
Parading around topless like that I’m sure people won’t notice if you have a couple of slices of bacon taped to your armpits.
“to be a personal library of scent memories. For example, my love of night-blooming jasmine has lasted a lifetime. Growing up in California, I distinctly remember the scent of jasmine on summer evenings.”
Her childhood memories of vacationing in Greece also are part of the fragrance:
“No aroma is quite so … exhilarating,” she’s said. “The combination of the salty air and tropical oils reminds me of long sunny days on the beach – pure happiness.”
In addition to branching out into the fragrance business, she is also going to be directing:
‘I have a project in development I’m going to direct,’ ‘After you get enough movies under your belt you sit back and go “what’s next?” It’s going to be the time where creatively I want to turn in a different direction.’
