Katy Perry takes us behind the scenes at the UK Esquire shoot where she was her sexy self posing in short outfits and high boots.

Katy tells Esquire how she tamed Russell Brand by not giving it up right away.  I think she waited a whole week which for someone like Russell Brand (at the  time) must have felt like years (interview excerpt via Huffington Post) .

On first meeting her match:
“I was 25, 30 feet away from him. And I threw the bottle straight at him: hit him smack dab on the head. Can you imagine the horrible feeling he had, when he was used to getting everything he wanted? I was like, ‘You’ve met your match, motherf*cker.’ A week later we went on vacation in Thailand.”

On taming Russell Brand:
“He used to basically be a professional prostitute – now he’s not. So he’s an extremist which can be both good and bad. I always needed someone stronger than me. And I am, like, a f*cking strong elephant of a women. I say that hopefully in the humblest way I can.”

On being one in the same person as her future husband:
“I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I am you. You are me.’ Two divas in one house. It’s like splitting the atom: it shouldn’t happen.”

On being a girl-next-door type:
“I feel like I wanna be somewhat of a girl-next-door, but not as f*uckin’ sappy.”

On her number 1 single California Gurls:
“I was thinking to myself how perfect it would be to have a California anthem. I can’t let the Beach Boys down. I can’t let Tupac down. I had the idea to put Snoop on – I thought he would be the cherry on top, and it would make me look cooler.”

On smoking with Snoop:
“I was scared for my life to get off the hookah. Everyone else is smoking everything else. I was saying to myself, ‘If that sh*t still gets Snoop high, if I breathe it in I will die. I will be on a permanent balloon.’ I was like, ‘Hold on to the hookah.’”

On always getting her way:
“I was always very manipulative as a kid – I got my way. Which has helped me my whole life.”

On being larger than life:
“We are both larger than life. I think we are kind of cartoony. But I don’t think that means we’re not to be taken seriously.”

Crush #5 Matt Damon is in Las Vegas where he attended the 2010 Ante Up for Africa at the Rio Hotel and Casino. I love that his very talented hot piece of mansicle is not only a great husband, father and actor, but he’s quite the humanitarian. If I had wood I’d be sporting it right about now.

I know I go on and on about Kiefer Sutherland, Gerard Butler and Jason Statham, but I think when it comes to Matt Damon he is as  close to perfection as you can get.*gasp* Did I just say that? If you think about it, he’s cute, he doesn’t over indulge, he isn’t a womanizer and he isn’t angry, lol.  I LOVE his sense of humour. He’s witty and clever. Mommy likes.

Lolene has released the official full length video for Rich (Fake it Til You Make It) which is the first single off her album, The Electrick Hotel, which is due out in October, 2010.

The video debuted last week at LOGO TV’s NewNowNext PopLab and is now available online.

I had the opportunity to speak to Lolene about her album and her journey and here are her answers:

1.    During your childhood your mother had you take dance and singing lessons.  How/when did you learn to write music (melodies)?

I think it came naturally. I started with poetry and I have always had a way with words, and a natural ear for melodies. It took a lot of practice over time and I developed my craft like any other instrument, but it is a gift I am thankful for.
2.        Was the move to Hollywood what you imagined it to be?

Yes, it’s certainly a magical place.

3.        Besides your wonderful mother, who inspires you?

God, London, Joan Collins, Kate Bush & Freedom.

4.        Who would you like to collaborate with at some point?

Kate Bush, Prince & Eminem.
5.       What musical artists have you been the most influenced by?

Madonna, Kate Bush, Ace of Base & Debbie Harry.
6.       If you were stranded on an island, what 3 things would you HAVE to have with you?

Food, the internet and a big boat.
7.       If you could meet anyone (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

I would meet Dr. Martin Luther King and ask him if his dream was what he thought it would be.
8.       When will your tour start and where will it take you?

Life is a tour, I am everywhere!
9.       How do you decide which song is the first single? In this case Rich (Fake it Til You Make it).

10.   Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

As an International Pop Star, Business woman, and happy person.

Slight exaggeration I know.  Kim Kardashian, sister Kourtney Kardashian along with baby Mason and their mother Kris Jenner have lunch at the famed Cipriani’s where it looks like the cameras are rolling on their reality show.

Speaking of reality shows (brilliant segue, yes?), Khloe Kardashian and husband Lamar Odom are getting their own reality show with E! A source to Gossip Cop says the show will show the couple:

“trying to get pregnant,” being a stepmother to her Los Angeles Laker hubby’s children and then furnishing their new home.”

I wonder if E! would be interested in a reality show about a blogger who blogs from her dark basement in Walmart couture amidst her Kiefer Sutherland shrine? It doesn’t hurt to ask.

If you can’t get enough of Jane Lynch (who if you have stepped off planet earth for the last several months plays Glee’s Sue Sylvester) you are going to be able to see her in another television show.

Jane will also become part of the cast in the kidlet television show iCarly where she is set to play the role of the never seen but much talked about mother of Jennette McCurdy’s character Sam Andy Patrick of the Ausiello Files is reporting exclusively.

She starts filming next week with the episodes to start airing on Nickelodeon upcoming third season of the show.
