Gawker has put together some great blind items today. I can never solve these things.

1. “This tween heartthrob actor enjoys being in the limelight, but in order to stay there, he has been advised to ‘man up’ his image. To this end, he made an appearance at a New York club, and it was reported in all the papers. Another adventure that went unreported, however, was his trip to a New York male strip club with a couple of other guys. One of the guys is his frequent co-star. The other is the heartthrob’s boyfriend, also an actor. The trio spent more money there than they did at the other club. 2. “This is kind of Old Hollywood but some of the people are still alive so not a true Old Hollywood item. Anyway, this Academy Award winning (yeah I said it, no nominee/winner) actor who is still alive got one of his most famous roles in a very interesting way. The Academy Award winner/nominee director of the movie had a crush on this woman. Our actor discovered that the woman would take money for sex and paid for her for a year. The actor told the director he could get the woman interested but he wanted the role. He also wanted a role for one of his friends who is been a B+ movie actor and television actor forever. The director agreed and our actor made the introduction. The director had no idea the actor paid for her services. He used his entire paycheck from the movie to pay for her.” [CDaN]

Katie Holmes appears on the September issue of New York Magazine striking the famous Jackie Kennedy pose and looking quite gorgeous while doing so!  Katie plays the former First Lady in an upcoming History Channel mini-series, The Kennedys.

Katie gave an interview to the magazine where she talks fashion, Tom Cruise and the fact that they are letting Suri run the household (he he he):

You put your collection together with your stylist, Jeanne Yang. How did you get into designing?
I started making clothes for Suri when she was born, designing dresses, and then having seamstresses sew them, because I don’t sew very well. As a child, I was always drawing clothes, and I’ve always loved fabrics, and when Suri was born, I wanted to have certain things be from me and created just by me for her. And so that kind of got me into it, and then one day, Jeanne and I were getting ready for something and we thought, men have such beautiful tailored shirts, they have such a uniform, and we thought it would be nice to make things that are simple that you can have forever.

Were you always into fashion?
I always loved clothes growing up. My mother had a drapery business. And now, part of being in this business is that you’re around really nice clothes. You do these photo shoots, you get exposed to Hermès and Chloé and Armani, and you start to feel the difference.

Is Suri into clothes, too?
I grew up the youngest of five, so there were a lot of hand-me-downs that I would sort of change up. And Suri and I do that now with her clothes. Or rather, she does it. She says, “I want this sleeve cut,” and it’s like, “Okay, we’ll cut it.” She picks out all of her own clothes and has since she was 1½. Tom and I went to the Met ball a couple of years ago, and I had this beautiful red gown and these royal-blue shoes that I wasn’t planning on wearing, but Suri made me put them on and so I was like, “Okay, I trust you.”

My dogs usually bark once for ‘yeah go with that’ and twice for ‘have you lost your mind’.  Um, okay I think it’s fabulous they encourage their child’s creativity and give her the confidence to make her own choices and all, but letting a toddler dress me doesn’t make sense to me.

She’s often with you on set, right?
Her first set was Lions for Lambs, when she was 9 months old, and now she’s 4 and she’s so creative and she’s so bright and so special. Whatever she wants to do, I know she’s going to be amazing at it. I’ve already started my applause, and I will be applauding for the rest of my life.

You’re playing Jackie Kennedy now. Do you think about your experience in the public eye while doing the role?
I’m just focused on creating a character as much as possible without knowing what was going on behind closed doors. In my own life, it’s just something that’s there. We luckily have security so I can focus on motherhood and work and other things.

Is it complicated balancing your schedule with Tom’s?
We have quite a schedule, you know? We don’t say, “When I’m working, you don’t work,” or anything like that. Last year he was shootingKnight and Day and I was shooting The Romantics, and we’d just fly to see each other after we wrapped. And we homeschool Suri—she has a teacher who is with her every day. We like the one-on-one education. I’m happy that my daughter is strong-willed and determined. You really have to go with what the child is wanting.

Would you and Tom ever work together?

Well, we do collaborate on everything at home. But I mean, he’s Tom Cruise! His body of work is incredible. Every movie he’s done has done really well. I look back, and everything’s a classic. I definitely come home and say to him, “So, imagine a scene … how would you play it?” And he’s helpful and sweet and gracious. He’s quite an incredible human being.

I can totally see Tombo being sweet and gracious.  Whether you think he’s a few fries shy of a Happy Meal or not, you have to admit he’s a nice guy.

Do you read the various speculations about your marriage?

It’s there, it’s one of those things. My big concern is what does he have going, what do I have going, what are we going to do this weekend. It must seem weird, I guess, having so many people watching. It is weird. I get it. But you just, you know, smile and nod.

Smile and nod like a Stepford wife or someone who has passed their programming with flying colours!

TMZ is reporting that Lindsay Lohan is most likely going to get sprung from UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Hospital as early as this week according to sources close to the situation.

Although Lindsay’s doctor’s have not written their final report, they believe she isn’t bipolar (as once was thought) nor are her addictive problems really a problem.  Is her doctor named Dr. Dina Lohan perchance?

Once the docs have written their report Lindsay’s lawyer will present it to the judge who gets the final say, but TMZ says chances are if the docs say it’s okay for Lindsay to go free, she will free her. However she will still be receiving outpatient care.

Mischa Barton and Fearne Cotton are in Los Angeles filming something.  I don’t know what is more shocking:  Fearne Cotton filming something with Mischa Barton or just that they are filming something period. I still don’t believe it. I think they are just grabbing a beverage and decided to bring along a film crew to entice Hollywood executives to jump on board the gravy train that is the Mischa Barton and Fearne Cotton show.

Having had a week off where I was a complete and utter BUM I actually felt compelled to look up who Fearne Cotton is on imdb.com and even they don’t know who she is other than she’s born in England, is 5’6″ and is best friends with Holly Willoughby. Now if I were really professional and all, I would then look up who Holly Willoughby is and piece this staggering mystery together but I think it’s best I pace myself.

Madonna is on the set of the film she’s directing about Wallis Simpson entitled W.E. where she’s rocking some glasses a hat and no makeup. She’s a braver woman than I.

The romantic comedy is:

A two-tiered romantic drama focusing on the affair between King Edward VIII and American divorcée Wallis Simpson and a contemporary romance between a married woman and a Russian security guard

Abbie Cornish stars in the film and can be seen in some of the shots on the streets of London.

It’s a family affair on the set because Madonna’s kids Lourdes, David, Mercy and Rocco join her on the set as does Lourdes father Carlos Leon.
