HOT. DAMN.  Jon Hamm looks smoking hot on the October issue of Details Magazine. He talks about acting in his high school days:

“I never minded standing up and looking like an idiot, which is tremendously helpful in this industry.”

He is okay with the fact that his success wasn’t an ‘overnight’ thing:

“Absolutely, I don’t know how the Twilight kids or Miley Cyrus handle it.  You make one bad decision and people in Thailand Twitter about it.”

Lol. That’s so funny.  And true.  When I first got on Twitter I had a ‘Jon Hamm‘ following me and I squealed like a pig for days thinking it was actually him.  I’m going to convince myself it was and that he has since gotten too busy to keep up with Twitter (the account no longer exists).

He talks about his new movie ‘The Town’:

“It’s almost like an old Hollywood movie. It’s got a love story, it’s got a crime element, but it’s very much for adults,” “There’s not a lot of candy for the Twitter-obsessed.  It just deals with adult shit- no werewolves, no vampires.  Yet … they’re retooling it for 3D.”

He talks about how the business has changed and how easy it is for people to make a name for themselves:

“L.A. represents opportunity. And, as has been proven over and over in the current media landscape, it doesn’t take much for them to put you on TV.  If that’s all you want you can just be on The Bachelor or The Real Housewives or whatever show just wants oversized personalities, ridiculous behavior and zero dignity.”

“When you try to learn how to act, you approach it with respect.  But if you just want to be famous…that’s not much different than porn.  ‘I’m a movie star!’ Well, no, no you’re not. You’re a porn star, and that’s completely different.”

Damn.  I love this man more and more.

Despite the success of Mad Men, it’s not enough:

“I do this show for four months of the year. I can’t live on it—I gotta keep hustling.”

“I went right from the show into The Town, working with Ben Affleck for six weeks up in Boston,” he says. “Then right from that up to Canada to shoot a little part in Sucker Punch with Zack Snyder, who did Watchmen and 300. This guy is a genius-level-weird artist. It was just amazing—a-mazing—how much energy he puts into it day to day, how excited he was about it. This guy is totally inspirational, in every way. It was like, ‘I’m on board! Let’s do it! Fuck it! Fuck, let’s do it!’”

Day 10 of the U.S. Open (yesterday) saw the Canadian Great One Wayne Gretzky and his gorgeous wife Janet Jones Gretzky (who clearly dresses Wayne), take in the match between Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark v Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in New York.

Also taking in that match were David Duchovny and his wife Tea Leoni, Oprah’s BFF Gayle King, music mogul Clive Davis, Rick Fox and Donald and Melania Trump.

Day 11 of the U.S. Open featured the men’s quarter finals at the USTA Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, Queens where Christie Brinkley flashed her model smile while John McEnroe looked as happy as the guy is probably capable of. Also Ralph Macchio was on the sidelines looking more like security detail than tennis enthusiast.

Toronto is buzzing with all things celebrity and the TIFF. The 35th Toronto International Film Festival opened today and the stars are starting to swoop into town! I hope they brought their warm underwear because it’s freezing here.

Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush are here to plug The King’s Speech.  In addition to that, the wonderful Geoffrey Rush is helping to raise money for the Toronto Sick Kids’ Foundation by signing a Mattel board game that can be purchased at www.vonality.com

Zack Galifianakis is here promoting It’s Kind Of A Funny Story” for a Saturday premiere while Ellen Page is here for t he Rainn Wilson produced film Super which also stars Liv Tyler and Kevin Bacon.

The hunky Josh Lucas is here promoting Daydream Nation which means mommy needs to finalize this post and get a move on to stalk him.
