Lisa Rinna is ready to let people see the real side of her.  Not just the plastic loaded 47 year old.  Her first step, doing a reality show (Harry Loves Lisa) with her husband, Harry Hamlin.  Second step, having her upper lip surgically reduced.

Lisa Rinna has been mocked for years because of the silicone implant she had put into her upper lip in 1986.  Yes, I admit.  I was one of the people mocking her.  But you know what?  When you make your lips blow up to outrageous proportions, you are literally putting a huge target… on your face.   This is Hollywood and it’s a harsh reality.

Lisa told People why she came to the decision,

“My lips started to define who I am.  That bothered me.  I took a big hit for being honest. It gave everyone online permission to lambaste me. It hurt my feelings.”

On August 26th, Rinna had the implant removed,

“It doesn’t matter what other people think.  I did it for myself.”

She’s very happy with the results too.  Her lip is no longer “bumpy and uneven … my lip has no lumps! It’s smooth.”  Lisa definitely made the right choice.  Soon the whole lips thing with be a thing of the past and perhaps she will be taken more seriously in Hollywood again.  I can’t help but wonder what took her so long to get to this point though?  It will be another six months before her lip healing will be complete.
