Talk about abandoning your family.  Since Spencer Pratt slithered into Heidi Montag’s life, her relationship with her mother, Darlene Egelhoff has been destroyed.  Heidi has written her mother out of her life completely.  Even now, when Darlene is in financial distress, Heidi is MIA.

If you watched The Hills, you’ll remember that beautiful restaurant in Colorado that some scenes were filmed in, that was Darlene’s business.  Well, thanks to the horrific economy, she lost the restaurant as it went out of business.

Darlene spoke with Inside Edition,

“I’m cleaning houses.  That’s very humbling for me and I very much appreciate that experience because I don’t ever want to get full of myself and think I’m too good to do anything.”

A job is a job.  But still, you’d think that Heidi and Spencer would help out a bit in this situation.  But then, they haven’t spoken in nine months.

If Darlene wasn’t such a loving mother, I’d suggest that she write a tell all book on her insane daughter and all of the crap she’s had to deal with.  That would rake in some serious cash!
