Hayden Panettiere is set to play Amanda Knox, the girl who was convicted of murdering British exchange student Meredith Kercher in a TV movie to air next year. Knox was sentenced to 26 years in an Italian prison amidst a very controversial case that saw her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and friend Rudy Guede also imprisoned. She has always protested her innocence and appealed her conviction.  Hayden says of playing  the role:

“The thing is when you don’t know how to play it that’s the most complicated thing because I can’t go in there with the idea that I’m innocent or I’m guilty,” she told the BBC Breakfast show. “You can’t kinda lean either way. If you have to lean any way in the script it would be more the innocent side of playing it.

“So it’s going to be a challenge but I’m really excited about it. And we’ll be in Rome for about five weeks.”

Hayden says the facts don’t add up in the case:

“It is a very controversial topic and it is very two-sided,” she said. “I mean if you look at the facts and stuff there is a lot of things that don’t make sense.

“But it is her story up until she was convicted of 26 years and it’s very in between, it’s pretty fact-driven so it’s hopefully when people see it they won’t think it’s quite as controversial as it has been billed to be

Minnesota Vikings star quarterback, Brett Favre just turned 41 yesterday.  He's supposedly happily married and has two children with his loving wife, Deanna.  Brett even became a grandfather this year.   He has retired and come out of retirement repeatedly, to the disdain of many.  At this point, I am thinking that Brett Favre is wishing he'd stayed retired this time.

On October 8, the NFL began investigating Favre for allegedly sexting and leaving lewd voice messages for "Gameday" host, Jenn Sterger during his 2008 season with the New York Jets. The investigation is in response to the voice mails and pictures posted on the website Deadspin the previous day.

So is this another Tiger Woods situation?  A seemingly stand up guy turns out to be a scandalous cheater?  Mr. Wrangler jeans, down home, good guy turned sexting, manparts flashing scumbag?

Should we be surprised?  I was at first.  I mean this is Brett Favre we are talking about here and he's never given us any indication that he could be capable of being such a dog.  But perhaps that's the lesson learned here.  All the nice guys out there might just be worse that the outwardly naughty boys.

Honestly, what kind of guy propositions team masseuses for sex and sends sideline reporters pictures of his manhood, thinking it's going to get him a piece of action. And why on earth would you leave such a 'digital trail' of your raunchy tendencies? Seriously Brett Favre.  You haven't come out and denied these accusations, so I am thinking it all must be true.

What does this mean for his career?  Well, Ben Roethlisberger just came off of a four game suspension for acting like a douche in Georgia.  He was never convicted of anything.  But, commissioner Roger Goodell didn't care.  He laid down the NFL law and suspended his butt.  If you think that Brett Favre is going to get away with this scandal, think again.

I would be willing to bet that this Brett Favre scandal will end with his permanent retirement.   We can only hope.

The only thing that could possibly make this wax figure of Russell Brand any hotter, would be if they made a Katy Perry one and placed them side by side.

Russell’s wax figure unveiling at Madame Tussauds in London was amazing.  This is one of the best I have seen.  Sometimes they get it just right and they certainly did with Russell Brand.  The likeness is stunning.  The only part of him that looks waxy would be his hands.  But his face is amazing!  Even the chest hair is perfect.  Well done Madame!

Have you watched ‘Get Him To The Greek‘ yet?  It came out on DVD/Blu-ray September 28, so go grab it if you haven’t.  Russell Brand and Jonah Hill are an absolute riot.  Brand plays an out of control, British rock star….. go figure!  He’s perfect!  And for all of you who need your fix of naughty, British boy eye candy, this is the movie for you.

George Michael has been released from prison after serving 4 of the 8 weeks he was sentenced to after pleading guilty to possessing pot and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

He was serving time in Pentonville prison where he was not put in general population for his own safety. He was then moved to C jail Highpoint Prison in Suffolk.

He not only received the jail sentence but faces a five-year driving ban, was fined £1,250 and ordered to pay £100 costs plus a £15 “victim surcharge”.

No word on why he was sprung early.  He says of his his time in jail and his new found freedom:

“It’s fantastic, it’s a beautiful day but I won’t go into all of that,” “I want to say thank you to everyone who supported me in there, it’s quite inspirational. I’m coming out here on my own so you’ll realise I just want to start again. I’m going to stop trying to run away from you guys.”

He talked to reporters outside his home saying:

“I’m fine, the house is empty, I just decided to… I just thought there’s no one in the house, my minders have gone home, I just thought… y’know, much as I’d like to play cat and mouse with you all I can’t be bothered,” he laughed. “I want to go out.”

Halle Berry can be seen leaving a salon in Beverly Hills where she got her hair did all pretty for Olivier Martinez who met her and picked her up after he did some errands himself.

Halle can’t seem to keep her hands off of Olivier in his car as she can be seen playing with his hair while he talks.  It looks like these two have lots of chemistry together.  I bet sparks fly! Imagine if they had a child together? Halle sure picks herself some smoking hot man meat.

Is it just me, or has it been a really long wait for Jay-Z to actually release this latest album?  Well, it looks like it’s been worth that wait.  ’Jay-Z: The Hits Collection — Volume 1′ will debut on November 23, this happens to be the day after Kanye West releases his latest, ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.’  Booooo.

Jay-Z is treating us well for being patient.  You will have options when you purchase this album.  There will be regular CDs and a vinyl version.  Plus, there is a Deluxe Edition package and Box set for collectors!

The Deluxe set is supposed to have five unreleased songs on it.  That alone makes it worth the extra cash.  I am thinking that the vinyl would be a fun edition to own as well.

So only about five more weeks left to wait. Goodness!  That’s going to be Christmas shopping time!  Stocking stuffers anyone?
