Ding ding, round two: Kanye West’s wrath against the Today show is bubbling over like a toxic larva.

The rapper has cancelled a scheduled performance on the show, in the wake of that ‘unpleasant’ interview with Matt Lauer.

Rewind: West spat the dummy this week over his sit-down with Lauer on the Today show. West was enraged with how Lauer and Co. handled his interview, specifically the show’s decision to run tape of George W. Bush’s disgust over his Bush “doesn’t care about black people” allegation.

West barked at Lauer: “You know what I’m saying, you don’t have to do the TV stuff with me. This is reality.”

He also took exception to the show rolling tape of him storming the stage at the 2009 MTV VMAs underneath his apology to Bush.

West has just told the show’s producers – via Twitter – that he’s cancelled his scheduled performance.

“I’m not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons. I’m so happy the world got to see just a small piece of ‘the set up’,” he wrote.

“I blatantly said I’m not performing on a tweet and to everyone around me and the next day they still announced a performance.”

And the beat went on.

“Do you guys see what I’m saying now…this is just a small slice of the day to day bulls**t that goes on that helps to precipitate…the idea that I such an a**hole…cause when I don’t perform oh noooow I’m the one that’s crazy or a jerk!

“If I hadn’t tweeted about how they set me up at the show they would have never played the extra footage that displayed how disrespectful…I want you guys to look at that footage and start to put everything together now. It’s very simple to call someone angry or spoiled or…the one thousand names I’ve been called but it’s harder to try to take a look at what’s really behind the curtain.”

But it’s not personal.

“Right now I’m not complaining. I’m tweeting because I’m so happy you guys got to see this s–t really go down!!!!:)))))))!!!! FINALLY!!! And I don’t hate Matt Lauer…We don’t promote hate. That’s the whole point!!! I promote love and truth!”

He polished off his rant with a delicious touch:

“All positive energy…all smiles. Much love to Matt and the whole Today Show. I accept y’all future apology in advance LOL!”

A rep for the Today show confirms to The Hollywood Reporter :

“Kanye West has cancelled his Today show concert.”

Time to let this one go, West. In with anger, out with love. Move on.
