Rihanna Thinks Gossip Bloggers Hate Themselves

Rihanna thinks that gossip bloggers like me and all celebrity gossip bloggers hate ourselves:
[I still read the blogs] sometimes, it depends on what it is I am trying to find out. I’m a lot more numb to it now only because I understand what it is. It’s a community for people who don’t have anything else to do and hate themselves, they hate their life, they hate their job, they hate their appearance, they are uncomfortable with who they are so what makes them feel good is talking smack about other people who they think they will never ever see in their life and they happen to be celebrities. It seems impossible to ever have the opportunity to say these things to their face, so they get to hide behind their computer.
Sure, there is a bit of self-loathing when I realize I haven’t tended to personal hygiene in days because I’m cranking out posts on celebrities like HERSELF because she has FANS, but that is usually remedied by a bottle or two of the finest Tequila. At that point all of my troubles are long forgotten as is where the hell I put my laptop.
While I see her point, I think that applies to those that are especially cruel and there are a lot of us who are supportive of celebrities like herself. But the bigger picture, and one she is forgetting is that online media is what keeps her ass in the public eye and keeps her fans wanting more which in turn increases their loyalty to her. The bottom line of that? She’s rich. And she’s welcome.
Now if you want to get all analytical (because those who know me know I can analyze the sh*t out of pretty much anything) one could say that those attracted to the world of show business are insecure, attention-seeking narcissts who need the constant approval of others.

At the root of all of that (and no I don’t have a degree in psychology) I would have to think is self-hatred to an extent. If not self-hatred, then at the very least disapproval of one’s self. Maybe that’s a stretch, maybe it’s not, but a lot of people in show business will admit to needing the approval and love of others and while that is a fundamental need most of us have, on the grand stage of show business, it kicks that self-loathing up a bit.
The celebrity blogger that first came to mind when I read her quote is a very good friend of Rihanna’s BFF, Katy Perry so what then does that say of her choice of friends? Remember Rihanna, those in glass houses…….
