Zooey Deschanel is Suing Steve Madden
Zooey Deschanel is pretty pissed off at super cute shoe designer, Steve Madden. She is claiming the company stiffed her over an endorsement deal she agreed to back in August.
Coachella Day 1 – Performances
The lawsuit was filed yesterday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The original deal was for $2 million and Zooey agreed to it. Then Madden came back saying the retailers wouldn’t back it, so he reduced it to $1.5 million. Zooey was still cool with it. She turned down other gigs to do this one. So it’s pretty shady that she ended up with nothing at the end, right?

Steve Madden stiffed her completely and she’s suing for the original $2 million. She could even go for more since he promised her a portion of the profits is sales were high enough. Go get ‘em girl!

Color me surprised. This from the “designer” who has been repeatedly sued for, ahem, borrowing the designs of other, actual, designers.
