Okay, I know that sounds ridiculous.  But wow.  When I see the headline that Oprah gives $4o million to charity, my middle class self makes me think I missed more than one boat in life.

Oprah’s charitable contributions are given primarily through the Oprah Winfrey Foundation for education and programs for women and children.  Those are great causes and I am all about charity.  But geesh!  This woman has serious cash when she gives away $40 mill at a time!

You want to know who came in second place for charity?  Novelist, Nora Roberts with $4.45 million.  After that, it was Meryl Streep with $4 million.

Those are much more reasonable numbers.  Still huge, but so dwarfed by Oprah’s.  But that’s her style.  HUGE.

Thank you Oprah, but if you ever need to throw some dough out, I have a couple of ideas for you…….

The print ads, photographed by Tim Walker, will debut in March, so we won’t have to wait too long.  This is perfect timing with the reopening celebration of Dior’s 57th Street boutique in N.Y.C., where the Portman appeared to celebrate alongside Dior’s head designer John Galliano.

And mine for that matter.  How adorable is Kate Gosselin’s hair?  The mother of eight is rocking this super hip, sexy style thanks to Ted Gibson, stylist to the stars.

Kate paid him a visit at his NYC salon and came out looking like this.  I am loving it.  In fact.  I may just have to go get this cut. Kate’s friend said that,

“Kate adores Ted; he totally transformed her look last year. She would never go anywhere else. Even though it means coming to New York to see him, Kate thinks it is totally worth it.”

I hear you girl!  That is definitely worth the trip.  If only all stylists could work that kind of magic!  And hello!  How much of an upgrade is this look from Kate’s scary hairdo of the past?

19 Kids and Counting’s littlest “star” just turned one (Dec. 10) and this is a miracle in and of itself.  Little bitty Josie Duggar is a growing girl.  She’s now fitting into six month old clothes, weighing in at 15 pounds 12 ounces.  She was a mere 1 pounds 6 ounces when she was born at 25 weeks.  So this little one has come a very long way.  Geeeeeezzzz, I am totally tearing up here!

Her mama, Michelle said,

“She’s waving hello and goodbye.  She’s saying da-da … Her outlook is so wonderful. It is a miracle.  We call her our little pajama girl because she has to wear a certain kind of snap pajamas for the monitor wires.”

That sounds so sad.  But it really is great.  No one expected Josie to survive.  She’s a one year old now!  If you didn’t believe in miracles before, you should now.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are very busy planning their Teaxs wedding and it’s going to be complete with deer meat. Huh?!  Yes!  They are having Bambi on their menu.  Skipping the filet mignon and going with the deer.  I know cows are animals too.  It’s just that I have a soft spot for Bambi….are you with me?!

“We’re having deer meat served at our wedding — we’ve already got a pile of ‘em ready,” Shelton, 34, told UsMagazine at the American Country Awards. “It was actually her idea, so when your girlfriend thinks like that, it makes it easy for me just to show up and have a good time.  I got to pick some music and entertainment, and that’s all I cared about.  We’ve got some surprise entertainment lined up that I’m really pumped about. I’ve decided this night I want to be a lot of fun. I don’t want to call in favors. I just want to hire people that I want.”

Miranda is mostly looking forward to becoming a wife,

“I’m looking forward to getting married — just doing it,” she recently told Us. “Just taking that next step and becoming a woman and moving on in life.”

That is so sweet.  They make the cutest couple and I am really looking forward to their wedding.  I want to see her dress!  An early congrats and a big good luck with the rest of the planning!

Earlier today we linked to TMZ’s story about Miley Cyrus being seen on a video smoking salvia from a water bong and getting stoned.  She inhales like a pro doesn’t she?

Salvia is a natural herb that has psychedelic qualities and makes one laugh hysterically. AND the herb is legal in California! Suddenly the theme song from The Beverly Hillbillies is playing in my mind.

Well Billy Ray took to his Twitter page today to apologize for his daughter’s antics:

That statement reveals a lot doesn’t it?  Miley’s parents are in the process of a divorce and Billy Ray has lost control of the family and it’s really bothering him. I’m not a fan of the family but I feel sorry for him. I can’t imagine how painful it is for a parent to feel like he does right now.

What do you think? Is Miley just being typical of someone that age? I mean she is legally an adult now, right, or is this the beginning of a problem?
