Derek Hough Taking A Break From Dancing With The Stars
I may just have to take to my bed and sob all weekend long. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I also need to prepare all of our fabulous Dancing With The Stars’ viewers: Derek Hough is taking a break from the show this season 
But kids it’s a good news bad news kind of deal. He may be leaving DWTS, but he’s doing it to do a movie! So we will get to see him on the big screen. Deadline exclusively reported that he’s leaving to star in Cobu-3D where he will team up with Asian singer BoA. According to Access Hollywood the film is about:
two dancers embroiled in a “Romeo & Juliet”-esque romance set in a world of two rival dance clubs.
The three time disco ball trophy winner (Nicole Scherzinger, Brooke Burke and last season’s Jennifer Grey) will miss Season 12 and is expected to return.

The movie will start filming this spring in TORONTO (I just pee’d a little) and New York!
Congratulations to Derek on this amazing opportunity, but he will be dearly missed on Season 12 of DWTS
