Audi and Designer J. Mendel’s kicked off Golden Globe Week with a gala that was held at Cecconi’s Restaurant Monday night.

The 68th Annual Golden Globes will air this Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 5 p.m. PST and 8 p.m. EST with your host being Ricky Gervais!

The excitement is heating up as the Golden Globes are considered a good predictor of the Oscars. it’s a great party atmosphere that also hands out awards for your favourite TV Shows. To view all of the nominations check out the official website.

At Monday night’s party Zac Efron came solo (although we’ve all heard the rumours he’s back with Vanessa) and we were also treated to Alexander Skarsgard, Apolo Ohno, Julianne Hough, Sophia Bush, Drake Bell and lots of others. Check out the pictures after the break

Shakira and her boyfriend of 11 years Antonio de la Rua have taken a break from one another she announced to Spanish-language newspaper El Pais. In addition to that she posted this on her blog:

Dear Friends,

During our almost 11 years together we have loved each other deeply, taken care of each other and stood by one another. They have been the most wonderful years of our lives, and thanks to that love and the respect that we share for one another we have been an exceptional couple and partners.

However, since August 2010, we made a mutual decision to take time apart from our romantic relationship. Throughout this time we have continued to work together hand in hand, have remained close and have kept the details absolutely private until now.

We view this period of separation as temporary and as a time of individual growth as we continue to be partners in our business and professional lives.

Antonio continues to oversee and conduct my business and career interests as he has always done. We move forward as partners, developing projects together, working hand in hand and in close communication. Our friendship and understanding of one another is unwavering and indestructible.

We would like to advise that we will not be giving interviews or making more statements with respect to this matter and we appreciate in advance your understanding and respect during this sensitive time in our lives.

How f*cking creepy that Jared Lee Loughner is all smiles for his mug shot! As you know he is the man accused of killing 6 people, including a 9 year old girl and wounding 14 others.

He confirmed his identity and his signature to Judge Lawrence Anderson at his court proceeding today and will appear before a judge again on January 24, 2011.

He is being held without bail as he is considered a “danger to the community”. That’s the understatement of the decade.

He is facing five federal charges, one count of attempted assassination of a member of Congress, two counts of killing an employee of the United States and two counts of intent to kill employees of the United States.

If found guilty he could be sentenced to death or at the very least serve life behind bars.

They are saying this man is schizophrenic which is a serious mental disease, and I don’t mean to show disrespect to those with it, but sometimes I have to wonder if that’s the spin on the defence’s team. Because sometimes, some people really are born evil.

Oscar winning actress Marion Cotillard is pregnant with her first child long time love Guillaume Canet her rep has confirmed exclusively with US Weekly.

The 35 year old actress met her baby’s daddy on the set of their 2003 French film Love Me if You Dare. She has been with him for three years.

No word on when the baby is due. 2010 ended with lots of divorce/separation announcements and 2011 is starting with lots of engagement and baby news.

Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds have been denying it, but according to a source to Radar Online, the two:

“are very much dating, and trying to keep a low profile.”

The two were seen out on New Years’ Eve, but dismissed it as nothing but friendship. They are reporting exclusively that the two have been sneaking away to her home in Wyoming. Think about it: she hid a child from the public for months before acknowledging she had adopted her little boy, so is this really a surprise? She’s like a top-secret ninja!

The source goes on to say:

“She feels very comfortable having Ryan there with her,” ”Sandy and Ryan are just enjoying spending time together. They have known each other for years and they have a built-in familiarity. “It’s great to see Sandy with a true smile on her face. Ryan has made at least two trips to Jackson Hole during the holidays, and her friends except more to come.”

I really hope this is true. I know when it came to hiding her adoption from the public, Sandra had said she was able to do it because she didn’t have friends who opened their pie-hole to the media.

So it’s that aspect of this story that leaves me wondering if it’s wishful thinking on all of our parts (who doesn’t want this union to happen) or is it actually true.
