A week ago the Grammys shocked the world of music when Eminem lost out on Album of the Year and Justin Bieber on Best New Artist. Instead awarding Arcade of Fire for their album Suburbs and Esperanza Spalding as Best New Artist. I know. Right?

Enter Steve Stoute. He’s a veteran marketing and music executive that was so pissed by the snubs he took out a full-page ad (major ca-ching) in the New York Times chastising the Grammy organization and the National Academy for Recording Arts and Sciences (NARA) for basically having their heads up their asses (my words not his, he’s much more eloquent).

Interestingly enough he points out that despite the snubs the two performed on the award show which also happened to set audience records attracting more than 26.7 million viewers. Only it’s highest since 2001. You can bet your butt it had everything to do with Eminem and Bieber performing.

An executive close to the telecast of The Grammys told EW exclusively that although Stoute makes valid points, the show operates independently of the voting process:

“The TV group is tasked to produce a Grammy-branded event for TV,” the executive said. “The voting procedure is done by the NARAS membership which has nothing to do with who produces the TV show.

Do you think Eminem and Justin Bieber got ripped off? I have to say I have Eminem’s latest CD Recovery and I am beyond impressed. I can’t stop listening to it. It really is his best work. And as for Justin Bieber, I know people love to hate him, and it’s usually those over 18, but you can not deny he has done exceptionally well all things considered and before the Grammys last weekend, very few people knew who Esperanza Spalding was. Not that she isn’t worthy, but isn’t Best New Artist supposed to be more of a household name?

Lindsay Lohan may be returning to show business much sooner than anyone thought. She has confirmed that she has agreed (although the contracts are not signed as of yet) to star in Escaping The Game, a drama set to film in both the U.S. and Spain.

According to producer Nathan Folks (who also is a friend of Lindsay’s):

“It’s about celebs who become very famous and can’t take it,” Folks explains.  Several fake their own deaths and create a new life for themselves on a remote island. Lohan’s role would be as an investigator who is hired to get to the bottom of their disappearances.

He is quite optimistic that Lindsay will not be going to jail and the deal will be wrapped up in several weeks he tells Radar Online exclusively. He even has the $30 million insurance policy that is required all figured out:

“We can get her insured if she is with someone who is keeping an eye on her 24/7,” Folks explains. “Lindsay and I’ve discussed it and she’s already agreed to the condition.”

However, should she find herself in jail, Folks is prepared to do the movie without her, but he’s quite the optimist:

“She’s doing great and we’re going to prove to the world that she’s back.

Even if she does stay out of trouble, isn’t there a chance she can do time for the alleged necklace theft? I really do hope it all works out for her and I sincerely hope she turns her life around and can move forward from all of the drama of the past.

Lock your teen daughters up. Taylor Momsen wants her own fashion line. The Gossip Girl actress and lead singer for The Pretty Reckless is thankfully too busy to embark on her own line:

I’ve always wanted to have a line at some point but when I do do that I really want to have the time to be able to commit to it properly. Right now I’m so busy but sometime in the future I would love to have a line, absolutely. I’ll be very involved in the design and all of it, I want to spend all my time making it the best it can possibly be. I don’t want to just put my name on it and have other people do all the work.”

The 17 year old actress did do a stint as the face of Madonna and her daughter Lorde’s fashion line, The Material Girl but has since been replaced by Kelly Osbourne. She was also suspended from Gossip Girl, so I guess she is too busy with the debut album of The Pretty Reckless to work on the fashion line, but that’s okay. She says of her unique sense of fashion:

I try to be original and have my own style, there’s a certain way I love to dress. I’ve always dressed differently to all the other kids but that’s the great thing about fashion, it doesn’t have to be for everyone. It’s personal and however you look is a reflection of you. I draw inspiration from different eras – I love the 60s and I love Edie Sedgewick but I wouldn’t say I dress exactly like that. I just try to make everything my own.”

She certainly is original for someone her age. And by that I mean she dresses in lingerie.  Her line shouldn’t be too complicated to design: bras, undies, stockings and garter belts. She doesn’t save the lingerie look for her onstage performances only. She attended Justin Bieber’s ‘Never Say Never’ premiere in probably one of the most inappropriate premiere outfits EVER. Perhaps by the time she gets around to designing it, her style will have changed?

The movie ‘Unknown‘ beat out Dianna Agron and Alex Pettyfer’s ‘I Am Number Four’ as well as Justin Bieber’s ‘Never Say Never‘ (ohhhh noooo…not the Biebs!) in its opening weekend this past weekend. The movie stars Liam Neeson, Diane Kruger, January Jones and Aiden Quinn. The storyline:

A man awakens from a coma, only to discover that someone has taken on his identity and that no one, (not even his wife), believes him. With the help of a young woman, he sets out to prove who he is.

You know whenever I see Liam Neeson I think about the untimely death of his beloved wife Natasha Richardson (she was only 45 when she died almost two years ago) and how difficult it must be for him.

So I just watched KanyeWest and Rihanna tear it up in this new music video for his single off of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, All of the Lights and I loved so much that I went straight to iTunes and bought it.  I am not a fan of Kanye as a person.  He still bugs me big time, but the guy can rock the mic and I can’t take that away from him.

As for Rihanna, this girl can do no wrong.  I love her with Eminem and now with Kanye.  Amazing.  Aside from her killer voice, she is seriously sexy in this video.

Oh yeah, Kid Cudi is in there too.  But I am just high on Rihanna and Kanye right now.  Enjoy:

Yes!  I am sooo super pumped on this one!  I have loved Kelly Clarkson since she won American Idol season ONE!  She is still one of the best that has come from the show.  Kelly is a true champ and she is finally in the studio working on her next album.  To tide over crazy fans like myself, Kelly posted the pic above with the caption:

“I had an awesome time in New York recording with Steve Jordan. He’s so talented and he’s good people which makes it even better. The song we recorded is called “why don’t you try” and it’s definitely gonna be my favorite on the album. Thank you Eric Hutchinson for letting me sing your song ”
