Guest Post: Mickey Rourke Apologizes For Calling New Flick ‘Terrible’

Allow me to introduce to you award winning gossip columnist Myrddin Gwynedd (or MG for short) from www.ohthescandal.com . Besides being award-winning, he’s charming, handsome and wickedly funny. He’s going to be coming over to INMF weekly for a slumber party, if you will. Clothing optional of course.
Days after he poured scorn on some of his latest celluloid offerings, Mickey Rourke is backtracking and apologizing for his comments.
A typically forthright Rourke was quizzed by the New York magazine’s Vulture column at a Scream 4 afterparty in New York earlier this week.
Asked about some of his more recent movies, including Passion Play, co-starring Megan Fox and Bill Murray, Rourke was far from complimentary.
On Passion Play: “Another terrible movie,” he said. “But, you know, in your career and all the movies you make, you’re going to make dozens of terrible ones.”
He also had a pop at his 2010 thriller 13, co-starring 50 Cent. “A really bad movie…so bad it can’t get out,” he said.
Then came his views on Megan Fox, who he’d been lauding to the hilt during press runs for Passion. He described the erstwhile Transformers star as a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood at the time.
He said:
“I don’t know if a lot of her films have showcased her acting ability more than, say, being action-oriented, but she really stepped up to the plate with this one and was very consistent and professional. At 23, I couldn’t do half of what she’s doing.”
Reminded by Vulture about his Fox fawning, after he also previously called her “one of the best actresses of all time,” Rourke corrected the reporter, saying: “That I worked with [smirk].”
That sure sounds like a downgrade!
Well our Rourke’s had a change of heart.
“When I talked to you, I was at a party,” he now tells Vulture in an email.
“It was loud and crowded, I was in a sh**ty mood and I was trying to get rid of your reporter. Mitch [Glazer, Passion Play director] is one of my best friends since we were kids. I loved working with him and would do it again tomorrow.”
He continued: “I don’t know why I said that stupid sh*t. I love Mitch, I love Megan. My bad.”
So bad, it’s good. You know he meant it. But hey, it’s just Mickey being Mickey.
Oh Mickey, you’re so fine you’re so fine you blow my mind, hey Mickey…
And on that note…
You take care, my dear Ineedmyfixers. Till next week…
