Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong sat down with Details Magazine and dished on his political views, the future of the Broadway show American Idiot, and how being a father to a sixteen year old boy makes this 39-year old feel old:

DETAILS: You’ve said that, prior to recording the album American Idiot, you came to New York and did a lot of partying. Did you think about that while playing the drug-pushing character St. Jimmy?
Billie Joe Armstrong: That’s more the main character, Johnny—going from being a big fish in a small pond to swimming with sharks. I had a tendency in my past to get caught up in partying too much or making bad decisions. Stealing a limo from David Letterman during the Insomniac tour—I got into a little bit of trouble. In 2003, I ended up in jail with a DUI, and I definitely regret that.

On the risk of being too political: “It dawned on me at the end of the last tour that things had become heavy.  It’s a f**king balancing act, man.  And you don’t want to always write about politics just for the sake of writing about politics.  I don’t want to become Rage Against the Machine. Bono is having lunch with George Bush to get money from him. I don’t operate that way. I stick to my opinions.”

On today’s political climate: “The Democrats are a bunch of f**king pussies.  It was so smart for the Republicans to embrace the Tea Party: ‘We don’t believe everything you say, but we’ll listen to you.’ I get more confused every day.  Then I feel like I’m not doing enough.  It starts to make my head explode.  Maybe I should go talk to the troops in Afghanistan.”

On Sarah Palin: “I listen to the shit that comes out of her mouth, and I’m just in awe.  These are Sunday-school teachers becoming politicians.  Mike Huckabee? He’s the guy that diddled you while holding the Bible.  He’s so soft-spoken, so Mr. Rogers.  Palin is the same—it’s this sneaky way to make Americans feel comfortable, but you know they’re rotten to the core.”

It’s very difficult to put into words what I think when I look at this cover of Carrot Top (real name Scott Thompson) on Las Vegas magazine without being cruel (and I don’t want to be cruel because I for the most part like Carrot Top). I’m not sure the straight look is any better for him than the curly look, but I think the real problem here is his face. And by that I mean way too much plastic surgery. He used to look less plasticy.

Take this picture from him at the 1999 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. I’m assuming he’s had tons of plastic surgery since then, but I don’t think I’m far off.

He has however appeared to have done a number of ‘procedures’ that one can only assume was an attempt to look like the cat lady. Which is a shame because he was fine before the surgeries.

So maybe the magazine cover isn’t so bad after all?

As we reported yesterday, Brooke Mueller is back in rehab after alleged reported erratic behaviour as of late. This prompted Charlie Sheen to spring into action and start the custody wheels in motion (in fact he’s wasting no time with his lawyers going to court this morning). Not only that, Charlie wants to take the kids on tour with him. That is NOT a winning idea.

I don’t know about you, but I find that a bit on the scary side. His love for his kids is undeniable, but with the tour and everything, perhaps the timing is a bit off for him to be looking after the kids?

Charlie Sheen Wants A Comeback

Enter Denise Richards.  TMZ is reporting that she called Charlie on Thursday offering to take informal custody of the twin boys he and Brooke share.  My heart goes out to these poor kids. I sincerely hope everyone puts their best interests first and make the right decision.

That sounds like the most sane option in this whole scenario. Considering how Charlie has publicly vilified Denise, I think it’s beyond classy and gracious that she’s willing to do this. What do you think? Should Charlie get the kids?

Former Seinfeld and New Adventures of Old Christine star, Julia Louis-Dreyfus is finally coming back to TV with an HBO comedy in which she plays former Senator Selina Meyer who becomes Vice-President. The show will also star Sufe Bradshaw, Tony Hale (Arrested Development) and Anna Clumsky.

HBO announced the new comedy called Veep starring the talented and gorgeous 50 year old Julia which will commence shooting this Fall in Baltimore and we will be able to see in 2012. HBO’s Sue Naegle:

“Armando Iannucci is a master of smart, savvy humor, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus is one of the sharpest comic actors around,”  “We look forward to a memorable series from them and fellow executive producers Frank Rich and Christopher Godsick.”

Being the gifted comedian she is, Julia responded with her own statement:

“It is a true delight to work with HBO and Armando Iannucci. I take the role of vice president very seriously, and although everyone says this is a comedy, I don’t think there is anything funny at all about me being a heartbeat away from the presidency.”

Did you ever watch New Adventures of Old Christine? It was a great show! The actor who played her brother, Hamish Linklater, was brilliant in the show. The dynamic between these two was brilliant. Why they took it off the air I’ll never understand. The show also starred Clark Gregg (husband of DWTS‘  and Dirty Dancing’s Jennifer Grey) and Wanda Sykes not to mention other very talented actors.

Dancing With The Stars’ professional dancer, entrepreneur and Playboy bunny Karina Smirnoff and DWTS‘ celebrity model (not to mention beautiful human being) Petra Nemcova hosted an after party at The Abbey in Los Angeles after last night’s show.

It also happened to be the birthday of Lindsay Rielly, Karina’s gorgeous manager.

Did you watch last night’s show? Was it me or were the scores a bit OFF? And by off I mean making not a lot of sense. For instance, Hines Ward. Don’t get me wrong I love him and Kym and wish them the best in this competition but I didn’t see where his dance warranted those marks. He’s done better in other dances. It just made no sense.

Tonight’s elimination should be very interesting. Who do you think will be going home?
