Woo hoo! The first official version of the first official teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises has been officially released via Warner Bros. official The Dark Knight Rises Facebook page! The trailer was first shown in theaters in front of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, so since it had already been pirated once, apparently the studio figured if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em and just handed it to us.

Tom Hardy Talks About Christopher Nolan & The Dark Knight Rises

I’ve watched it a few times now and while it looks cool as hell, love the Nolan/Inception-esque imagery, I am confused as to who that is in the hospital bed. It sounds a little like Liam Neeson, but looks a little like Gary Oldman. I’m going with Gary Oldman since they flashed on an image of Jim Gordon when the voice says “We were in this together.” I guess I’ll have to rewatch The Dark Knight where I’m sure it will become painfully obvious who that is and you’ll all want to throw things at me. I certainly recognize the flash we get of Tom Hardy as Bane, the “evil {that} rises”!

The Dark Knight Rises includes Christian Bale (they can now put ‘Academy Award winner’ on the posters), Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and ‘Academy Award winner’ Marion Cotillard. It comes to theaters everywhere on 20 July 2012. Can you believe that will be four years since The Dark Knight??
