Peter Jackson’s 3rd Video Diary for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey!

Peter Jackson has gifted the world with yet another in a series of video blogs that go behind the scenes of production of the eagerly anticipated The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. One of the things I love about Peter Jackson is that he’s as much a fanboy for all things Tolkein as any of the…well, fanboys (and girls) who are chomping at the bit for any piece of news coming from his sets. Is it me or is Peter Jackson really starting to look like a Hobbit?
This video is a great companion to all of the great images of the company of dwarves that have been released in recent weeks. We get to see the actors who play the dwarves talking about the experience, both in and out of costume. Speaking of costume, we also see Elrond (Hugo Weaving), Gandalf (Sir Ian McKellan) and Galadriel (Cate Blanchett) in character. Cate Blanchett looks stunning as usual.
One of the highlights was definitely John Rhys-Davies, who played Gimli in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, meeting the new band of dwarves and his “father” Gloin (Peter Hambleton). Oh and Richard Armitage being all…well, Richard Armitage. Be sure and watch it until the very end. I won’t spoil the surprise!
