Another boon from Comic Con and from Nicolas Winding Refn, the director of Bronson (with Tom Hardy) and Valhalla Rising (with Mads Mikkelsen), comes a red band trailer for Drive.   Written by Hossein Amini, based on the novel by James Sallis and starring Ryan Gosling, the film follows a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver-for-hire (or wheelman-his character is known only as “Driver”) and gets mixed up with some really nefarious types.  After a heist goes particularly wrong, he discovers that a contract has been put out on him and then thingsreally get interesting.

I’ve slowly but surely warmed to Ryan Gosling lately. Last year’s Blue Valentine had a lot to do with it. I’d been aware of him certainly, but hadn’t seen a lot of his work. He was brilliant as the hapless, aimless Dean, clinging to the shreds of his marriage because that’s all he has. It also has to do with the dry wit and intelligence that comes through in interviews. In any case, Gosling, combined with my affinity for the director’s work has me seriously looking forward to Drive.

It reminds me a lot of the early work of Michael Mann, particularly Thief, with it’s minimalist, 70′s vibe and To Live and Die in LA.  Drive was shown to great acclaim at Cannes this past May and Refn took home the award for Best Director. This would appear to be his most accessible film to date, especially in terms of subject and certainly cast.  Drive also stars Carey Mulligan, Christina Hendricks, Albert Brooks, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, and Oscar Isaac, and opens on September 16 in the US and Canada and a week later on 23 September in the UK.

Another new trailer has been unleashed for Jon Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens! Ahead of Friday night’s premiere at San Diego’s Comic Con, Dreamworks and Universal are continuing to hit the PR and marketing hard for this film. In the past week we’ve seen countless new clips and still images, and tv spots and now we get a fourth trailer!  Woot! *’cabbage patch’ arms segues into the Demented Poodle Dance (patent pending, all rights reserved)*

Seriously? Am I the only one beyond excited about this? Anyone? Bueller? C’mon, it’s Daniel Craig in tight leather chaps, it’s Olivia Wilde naked (if you’re into that sort of thing), it’s Harrison Ford being all Indiana Jones…what’s not to like?

Cowboys & Aliens will be released in the US on July 29 and in the UK on August 19th with a pre-premiere at the Empire Big Screen Weekend August 12!

Have you had enough of Twilight yet? We have Part 1 and Part 2 of Breaking Dawn yet to hit theatres and there is talk (or I should say in this case tease) of their being life after Breaking Dawn! Twiehards everywhere are probably uber-excited about this prospect. Are people really ready to say good bye to the Twilight Saga just yet?

At Comic Con director Bill Condon teased that it may not be the end yet:

“It’s the end of the Bella/Edward story,” Condon said. “But there are so many new characters at the end of the second movie that I suspect [Stephanie Meyer] would want to revisit them some time.”

I think when Twiehards hear about there being life after Breaking Dawn, they are thinking Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. No disrespect to the other fine actors, of course. I could be wrong, but I don’t think people want to let them go.

Hopefully if Breaking Dawn carries on, we will get to see more of Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. What do you think? Are you okay with the Twilight Saga ending at Breaking Dawn or do you want more?

Harrison Ford paid David Letterman a visit the other night promoting his latest movie Cowboys & Aliens and I have to say that this video is one of the funniest interviews on David Letterman.

Mila Kunis New York premiere of 'Friends with Benefits'

Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake have a lot of sex in the must see movie, Friends With Benefits.   This is my personal must see movie for the summer.  It’s going to be great… and um…HOT.  Sorry, I am excited.  Can’t help myself.  These two have great chemistry on the comedic side and in the bedroom.

Mila talked to Star about her amazing career, her balance and more:

Q: After your excruciating diet and exercise regimen for Black Swan ended, did you pig out?
You have no idea! It took me five months to lose 20 lbs. and five minutes to gain it all back. After the last night of shooting, I had a massive bowl of macaroni and cheese. When I arrived in L.A., I drove straight to an In-N-Out Burger and had a Double-Double Animal Style with a root beer float. It was fantastic!

Q: As a former child star, how have you stayed so grounded?
I have problems, you just don’t know about them because I’m a little smarter about not making them public. Some people go to a bar and get wasted and half-naked in public. I’m like, “Keep doing it if you want to — just do it in the privacy of your own home.”

Q: Is this movie a way for you to break into the rom-com world without doing the usual thing?
Maybe. We always thought of it as more of a comedy than a romantic comedy. If anything, it’s a buddy comedy with a little romance in it, because ultimately you care about the characters.

Q: Why was it important that character be such a big part of the movie?
Otherwise you just have hijinks, and you can only take hijinks so far because it gets boring after a while. I think to get a person involved, you have to make them care for you.

Q: Your character is pretty emotionally damaged, thanks to her weird mother.
It’s important to understand where Jamie comes from. You understand people when you meet their family and their friends. You get more of a sense of who they are. The original draft [of the script] was not as interesting as Patricia Clarkson made it. She came in and created a character out of nothing.

Q: Were you encouraged to go off the script much?
There are a couple of parts in the film that were at-the-moment type of things. One scene, where Justin was like, “Get your feet off the bed!” That was improvised because I think I had dirty feet from walking around onstage.

Q: Did you and Justin work on building a relationship with each other before you started filming?
You mean did I fall on top of him as a trust game? No. I know what would happen. I’d fall!
