First Poster for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy!

First Poster for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy!

Focus Features has revealed the first poster for Tomas Alfredson’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy! The poster features an image of Gary Oldman as George Smiley that is composed entirely of code. Smiley is a spy, a British Intelligence operative, whose task is to uncover a Soviet agent (a mole) who has infiltrated MI-6, the highest echelon in the British Intelligence Services, but in the poster he’s literally a cipher.  The release date of the film is concealed in the lines of code along with the title, character names and other details.

Teaser Trailer for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy !!

I’ve found a few, but by no means all of the clues. In case you can’t figure them out, and admittedly one would need a magnifying glass to find everything, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy stars Oldman, along with his The Dark Knight Rises co-star Tom Hardy, along with his Rocknrolla (and Scenes of a Sexual Nature) co-star Mark Strong, along with his “Fever Pitch” co-star Colin Firth who has not been in anything else with any of the aforementioned actors, except A Christmas Carol 3D with Gary Oldman. Benedict Cumberbatch was in “Stuart: A Life Backwards” with Tom Hardy and Amazing Grace with Ciaran Hinds. (I love that ’6 Degrees’ game and frankly with Brits it can go on all day.) The film also features a whole host of fantastic British character actors (is there any other kind?) like Kathy Burke, John Hurt, Stephen Graham, Simon McBurney, Toby Jones, and Stephen Rea.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is slated to open the Venice Film Festival in early September and is set for a UK release on 16 September (the date embedded in the poster), in the US we have to wait until 18 November.

Gruesome Look at The Walking Dead Season 2!

Gruesome Look at The Walking Dead Season 2!

AMC has released the first look at Season 2 of their original series “The Walking Dead”!  Last month we showed you some behind-the-scenes footage and some stills. Not for the faint of heart, (although if you were faint of heart you probably wouldn’t be interested in this clip anyway) this is a quick peek at Andrew Lincoln as Sheriff Rick Grimes bashin’ some heads and kickin’ zombie ass! Woot!

The Walking Dead is an epic, edge-of-your-seat drama where personal struggles are magnified against a backdrop of moment-to-moment survival. A survivalist story at its core, the series explores how the living are changed by the overwhelming realization that those who survive can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth. They themselves have become the walking dead.”

If you missed Season 1, which means you missed some of the best writing and direction on television, then you can catch up at AMC’s website: Season 2 of “The Walking Dead” premieres on AMC in October!

New Clip for The Whistleblower!

New Clip for The Whistleblower!

Last month we got a poster and a trailer for The Whistleblower starring Rachel Weisz, now we get the first clip, “You’re Not Safe Here”, which gives us a clearer picture of what to expect. The film is based on the true story of a cop, Kathy Bolkovac, (Weisz) from Nebraska who joins a UN Peacekeeping force in post-war Bosnia and discovers the cover up of a wide-scale, child sex-slave and human-trafficking scandal involving U.S. military contractors and the UN.

The first full-length feature for Canadian born Ukrainian writer and director Larysa Kondracki, the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year to great acclaim and finally has a US release date of August 5 and 12 August in Canada. I’d say this falls under the heading of ‘counter-programming’ for the adults by releasing it in the midst of all of the summer super hero and fantasy. I hope it doesn’t get ignored, although it will probably find an audience with VOD and DVD. Along with Mrs. Daniel Craig, The Whistleblower stars Monica Bellucci, David Strathairn, Liam Cunningham, Benedict Cumberbatch and Vanessa Redgrave.

Liam Hemsworth Goes AWOL

Liam Hemsworth Goes AWOL

Liam Hemsworth, younger brother of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and erstwhile paramour of young Miley Cyrus, has been cast in AWOL, a Vietnam era love story from first time director Danny Mooney. Based on a  true story, AWOL deals with the anti-war movement at the University of Michigan. Hemsworth plays a soldier whose best friend gets dumped by his girlfriend back home in Ann Arbor. Together they go AWOL to get to Michigan to get her back.

The rest of the cast includes a lot of new faces including Aimee Teegarden, Austin Stoll, Teresa Palmer and Wyatt Russell. I must admit this story caught my eye when I saw a pic of Wyatt. Even if I didn’t know who his father is, there’s no doubt who his father is. Look at the pic of Wyatt with his older half-sister Kate Hudson, they look just like their parents! Freaky!

Liam Hemsworth Goes AWOL

And, it makes me feel incredibly old.

Wyatt can be seen in the upcoming Cowboys & Aliens as well as Judd Apatow’s next (as yet untitled) project. Liam Hemsworth will next be seen in The Hunger Games.

David Duchovny and Tea Leoni Working It Out Again?

David Duchovny and Tea Leoni Opening night after party for the Off-Broadway production of 'The Break of Noon'

David Duchovny and Tea Leoni Opening night after party for the Off-Broadway production of 'The Break of Noon'

David Duchovny and Tea Leoni  are supposed to be split up, but they were spotted together in the car, driving around Malibu on Sunday.  Things looked back to normal.  So is this yet another reconciliation?  Or was this just some parental chit chat?

These two are famous for their breakups and makeups.  What is it this time?  Has David finally conquered his sex addiction?

I personally hope that they are really working it out this time.  Any time that there are kids involved, I cross my fingers.  Madelaine, 12, and Kyd, 9 would sure love to have their parents together again.

What do you think?
