Cash Cab Death

A production car from the Canadian version of the game show “Cash Cab” was involved in a horrible accident in Vancouver yesterday that sadly killed a pedestrian, according to TMZ.

A producer for the show was driving the car, off duty when they struck a 61-year-old man.   He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital when he died.

Andrew Burnstein, who is the President of Castlewood Productions, told TMZ,

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his friends and his family. My heart also goes out to the driver of the vehicle, a member of our technical staff, who is shaken and devastated by this tragic accident, as is our entire team.”

No charges have been filed as of yet.  But I am sure that the victim’s family will be seeking legal action shortly.

How very, very sad.

Celine Dion The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards on CBS

Grammy-winning singer, Celine Dion has been an idol of mine since I was in second grade.  I adore this woman.  She is such a busy, working mom these days, I admire her all the more.   She’s got her live Las Vegas show, new Celine Dion Signature fragrance (launching in September), and of course her 10-year-old son, Rene-Charles, and 9-month-old twin boys, Nelson and Eddy.  How does she do it?

ON CARING FOR HER TWINS:
“I have a lot of help that I didn’t think I needed. My sister Linda, who’s the godmother of my children, is like my children’s second mother. It’s pretty amazing, because she wanted to have 14 children and can’t have any. But she says, ‘Don’t feel bad. I can help you raise children. That’s what I was [put] here for.’”

ON THE KIND OF MOTHER SHE IS:
“What I’m most proud of is the mother I am. I’m good for cuddling, talking, listening. When I’m trying to get Rene-Charles to try or do something, I’m very, very patient.”

ON LOSING A CHILD:
“I was supposed to have triplets. I saw the three of them grow, but in a very early stage, though, one heart stopped beating. It was hard. I’ll always have a lot of love.”

Kirstie Alley has turned to the naughty side after her time on Dancing With The Stars with Maks.  She thinks she’s 21 again and is working the scene, trying to get the younger boys…. whooaaaa?

Kirstie, 60, has been hitting lots of hotspots in New York and scoping out the crowd for hotties in their twenties. According to the insider, once she manages to get a guy’s number, she starts texting. “She says, `Wanna hang out? Wanna have dinner? I’ll pay for it,’ and `I can get you a movie role,’ in order for guys to respond to her. She’s a total cougar!”

Is this hot or not?  I am not too sure.  I think it’s nasty, but then I think she’s earned it, more power to her. What do you think?  Is Kirstie a real cougar?!

I sooo hope she goes for it.  OMG.  I can only imagine the material she’s got.  But, I have a feeling she won’t.  She’s a new mom all over again.  She’s got her priorities in other places.

Scarlett Johansson, who divorced one of Hollywood’s hottest men, Ryan Reynolds and went straight to old man Sean Penn, is now single and well, a bit on the pathetic side if you ask me.  When their divorce was finalized on July 1, she headed out for a celebration at the bar.

She and her pals went to the NYC hotspot XIX  and she partied like she had something to celebrate.  I would have been in my sweats, depressed.  Ryan is with the ever sexy Charlize Theron.  That’s a damn good reason to feel pathetic. But no, she was celebrating,

“She was buying bottles and doing cheers in honor of her independence,” says an eyewitness at the club. “Aziz got up and did a speech and Scarlett looked happy. They had a toast and then got really drunk!”

Yeah, still haven’t seen you in a good place since the split.  Lame!

Barron Hilton 2011 Cannes International Film Festival - Day 7

Paris Hilton’s little brother Barron just broke his bank, if that’s possible in the Hilton household.  The judge has ordered him to pay $4.9 million to Fernando Tellez.  He’s the gas station attendant that Barron ran into when he go this DUI in 2008.

Tellez’s attorney say that he suffered “permanent disability” and has been forced to “undergo multiple surgeries and medical procedures” ever since.

Sources told TMZ,

“We disagree with the jury. Barron did not strike the attendant. Barron knows he did wrong. It happened 3 years ago and he’s been incredibly responsible ever since.”

I can’t believe that price!  OMG!  I think that Barron should pay up, but that number seems a bit excessive, don’t you think?
