Way back in June we gave you a first look at the trailer for the forthcoming Tom Cruise opus, Mission:Impossible – Ghost Protocol and now we have some brand new shiny images to go with it.   The latest entry in this long running franchise (can you believe the first one came out in 1996??) is directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille), making his live-action directorial debut.

The pics include a brooding, hooded Cruise, an intense and intent Simon Pegg, Cruise clinging to the side of the world’s tallest building (just watching that scene in the trailer gives me vertigo) and a dapper Cruise escorting the lovely Paula Patton into what will I’m sure turn out to be a hornet’s nest disguised as a black-tie gala.

Great locations, great stunts, gadgets and explosions. Just your average spy thriller to keep us satisfied until we get the next James Bond.  Tom Cruise is no Daniel Craig, but lucky for us he does surround himself with good actors. This time around we get Jeremy Renner (YAY!), Josh Holloway, Mikael Nyqvist (another YAY! I’m glad we’ll see him in something other than the Millenium Trilogy!), Simon Pegg (triple YAY!) and Anil Kapoor.  On the distaff side, we get Paula Patton (Precious) seen below and Leah Seydoux (Robin Hood, Midnight in Paris).
