Chris Evans in Puncture Movie Trailer!

Chris Evans has another new movie coming out. This one’s called Puncture, directed by Adam and Mark Kassan, two brothers best known for television work. Puncture is a legal drama with a plotline that might have been lifted from a Grisham novel, about a drug-addicted lawyer who takes on a health supply corporation while battling his own personal demons. It has three writers credited, but none of them are called John Grisham.
Was Chris Evans always in everything and I just never noticed? I turned on The Losers the other night (we won’t discuss it, sorry Idris) flipped the channel he was in The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond (a Tennessee Williams adaptation with Bryce Dallas Howard that no one saw), flipped it again and there was Push and Scott Pilgrim vs the World then he turned up on basic cable in The Fantastic Four. Sorry Chris, even after all that, it took Captain America: The First Avenger for the scales to fall from my eyes. And while he’s out in Cleveland filming its follow-up, The Avengers, Chris Evans has two more films coming out this year. We’ve talked about What’s Your Number?already (and by the way, I mentioned that one was filmed in Boston, well that’s Evans’ hometown. I didn’t know that either. And I live there. Someone get this guy a better publicist!) and now we have Puncture. Both of these are scheduled for September. Holy Schnikey! I think I need to just give in and ask for a leave of absence. There’s no way I can see everything scheduled for the next three months, awards contenders and non-contenders alike, if I don’t stop going to work.
Here’s the first trailer for Puncture. They gave him tatts!:
It does look very Grisham…or Michael Connolly or any number of writers using the legal thriller template. But that’s never stopped me from enjoying one. I’m a sucker for a good legal drama so I’ll probably give this a go. Puncture costars Michael Biehn, Brett Cullen, Vinessa Shaw, one of the directors, Mark Kassan and Jesse L. Martin (Jesse L. Martin! Gaah, I remember the first time he showed up on “Ally McBeal”…*thud* Where the hell was he? I didn’t see him in the trailer. Sorry…fan girl moment)
Puncture opens September 23 in the US.
